I have noticed a lot of Maya vs Saanjh debates here and trust me they're gonna go on forever
'cause thats the USP of Love triangle story
Pitch in 2 totally opposite men/women(in this case) against each other balancing out their merits and demerits so that the audience remain forever divided and engrossed in the storyline.
"Divide and rule"
does that ring a bell?
anyhow I am going to dwell in that ocean of a topic.
I am here to see this story from Arjun's point of view.
who is Arjun?
what are his perspectives of life?
and how do the people who are a part of his life affect him...
Arjun at 1st seemed to be your average Young Man,
Carefree ,
someone who dreams big and like every man his age ,
Craves for a luxurious life,
Fame
Fortune
who doesn't aspire for those thing?
but is there more to him than that?
well next easter egg the CVs casually dropped was the fact that his relations with his mother were strained?
why ? how? no one knew
But at a later stage it was revealed that she is infact his step mom and somehow he holds her responsible for his strained relationship with his dad who eventually died a painful death.
what we learn from all this is a simple fact that Arjun has seen his own wither away..
so he knows the value of the few people still remain in his life,
whether it be his baby brother,
or his best friend
and even his step mother,
no matter how strained his relations be with her,time and again its been proved that Arjun does care and value her presence in his life
he can't hurt her no matter what .
'cause he knows these 3 are the constants in his life
these are the people who are gonna be there for him no matter what
Enter Maya,
What makes her special?
He respects her for being a strong independent woman,
he admires her "Junoon" determination to get what she wants
her drive towards her destination,
and yet can't help but step up for her in her vulnerable moments,
not because he has feelings for her,
not because she is special,
but because he helplessly watch someone die,
he hates the feeling of helplessness,
he loathes himself for a simple fact that he couldn't be for that person he valued the most!!
and hence its in his blood to help out anyone who's in need
so that he never ends up in a situation similar to the ONE again.
His love for his Baby Bro is pure 'cause he feels that the closest person to be genuinely called his Family is Ayaan,
and even though he holds a grudge against his Mom,
he knows that she's gonna be there for him no matter what and vice-versa.
what his family fails to realize is the fact
that he is his own man,
both His Mother ans Saanjh try hard to make his decisions for him in a quest to protect him,
afraid that he is so broken inside that he might not be able to take anymore,
Arjun Aims the Sky and is ready to take the hard road
to make sure he outruns that feeling of helplessness,
that feeling of being unable to be there for HIS people ,
which doesn't necessarily mean that he would go to any extend to achieve those,
he's a man of his own principles,
but is strong enough to live with the consequences of his actions.
So it isn't the question of Saanjh or Maya,
it is about his life and how it shapes up with All these people in his life
think about it?
