Where do I start today?
It seemed I was watching a train wreck soon to happen where the driver can see the boulder ahead, yet isn't changing the route hoping that the boulder will disappear when he reaches there.
Today, Sonakshi's insecurity was so evident that my heart just broke. You know a puppy who has been kicked too many times how it flinches even if try to pet it? That's exactly what this marriage and Dev's prolonged silence have done to a confident woman who never had to wonder about whether she is loved, accepted or respected on her own merit in her own home.
Not all scars are visible and often the more unvisible ones last longest.
Ishwari today asked Sona to let her be a mother and assured Sona that everything would be fine. I hope Ishwari remembers her statement when she finds out the truth.
But seeing Neha's condition, I don't have much hope. She used to compete with her brother for her mother's attention. But with time she realized that she will never win that contest. So now in her mind Sonakshi is the competition.
Isn't it sad that the tough times which bind a family tighter than good times, made siblings rivals?
Moving on to Dev, despite pleading to God, miracle didn't happen. Sonakshi isn't pregnant. But Dev lied again thinking that by the truth comes out, Sonakshi and his mother will come so close that the lies won't matter.
Errrmmm... Dev, I understand you are used to dealing with women who don't apply their brains except to bother other people. But here's a few points for you to consider.
1. Sonakshi is a doctor.
2. She might have missed period, but those pesky things happen every month. You told her she is pregnant, what do you think would happen in 3-4 weeks when she gets her period? Either she will think she is having a miscarriage or she will know that she is not pregnant.
Either way, she will visit a doctor and imagine the shock she will get when that particular doctor says that she was never pregnant in the first place.
Do you think when your mother could not love Sonakshi for such a long time knowing her positive qualities both before and after marriage, these 3-4 weeks will turn your mother into Mother India? Now that would be a bigger miracle than having a baby for sure.
3. Your mother could not love Sonakshi without a baby, what makes you think that she will love Sonakshi after finding out that it was all a lie?
I am trying to understand something here, so hear me out.
Say you hate a food processor. It can't do anything right in your opinion. Then you find out that it has this great attachment which can knead dough like a pro. You finally loved the food processor. Then suddenly you find out that the dough kneading attachment is broken. Would you think, "Ah well, it gave me hope of softly kneaded dough for a few weeks so now I love the food processor" or would you throw it out in the garbage calling it useless?
Think about it and tell me.
I know I am comparing people with things. But until now, Sonakshi was a doll, a thing, a means to an end to keep her son worshipping at her feet for Ishwari.
When that doll gave hope to bring another toy, that doll became favourite.
When that hope is broken, what will stop that doll from being an object of hate.
And the funny thing is that it's all because someone decided the only way to turn the doll human is to keep on lying instead of standing by that beloved doll like a rock so that no one can treat her like an object and she herself never thinks that she is unwanted or useless.
