WHAT an epi!! 👏
mazaa aa gaya dekh kar! Here's a little something after a long time 😃
He was supposed to protect his sister against nightmares, against any pain. In every little way, as much as his mind could help, he thought of ideas to keep a smile on his didi's face, because she deserved it, she was the best. For all her teachings, her jokes, her habits, her ability to see and bring out the best in people, his didi was the best sister anyone could ever hope for: She was all he would ever need to create a complete family...and maybe Saumya, but that's for later.
But here, to see the horror that was her sister, helpless against the demands of a man so ruthless, he could not take it. Using the only weapon he possessed that was hard enough to hurt that man, he aimed and fired, as hard as he could, for every tear, it was not enough, would it ever be enough?
For the first time, his anger knew no bounds. Who could have thought an eight year old's heart could see that much heartbreak and survive enough to strike back?
But he would. He would because she won't.
She stopped him, she still stopped him from aiming another resolute blow to SSO. Why?
Because she still believed in the best of people, and she knew she needed her brother to become the best person he could be. Seeing the pain in her eyes, he calmed down and went with her, crying all the while. How much pain could she bear? What was she made of?
The mother of the said SSO would define her as a resolute, determined, good girl. Anika, the girl who did not answer back, when she had answers all the while, when she had incriminating answers all the while about a man she had only just started to respect and depend on.
But what and how could a mother's heart believe?
How could she understand this side of her son, the one light of her life and all her ambitions?
A mother always wants her child's best if she loves them unconditionally. And since the love had always been clear to all, the anger needed to be manifested as well.
Today, her faith was broken on her star-like son, a son who had always grown away from her until recently, one who was respected by the entire world, loved by all she knew. For who could know the soft-hearted boy she knew and not love him?
But this man, this cold, angry man, this could not be her son, this could not be her Shivaay. And so, how could she hear him speak?
Was it anger? Or intense pain? Would she not have broken down right then and there for all to see if he called her 'mom' at that point? Would she not read the guilt and hurt written in his beautiful colour-changing eyes and find them short of the penance he needed to undertake for all she had seen, all a mother had been subjected to?
And , she had blamed the one girl who was still saying out loud, who still claimed hat Shivaay was not bad, no, it was the circumstance that made him act like he did.
Despite his follies, despite his character, Anika still accepted a side of him only she had had the misfortune of experiencing.
And she, she still couldn't accept the son she used to know.
So, pushing back a stranger as intimate as her own flesh and blood, she walked away with destroyed trust, a broken heart, and pain so definite she could not see beyond it.
