Chapter2


First Phone Call



After Bhalla family left, Ishita left for her room. She walked in her room, she had a smile on her face as she was recalling their conversation, she walked to towards the mirror and admired herself. "You are looking beautiful." She smiled and blushed.

"Ahem ahem..!" Ishita heard someone clearing her throat, she turned at the door and saw Vandita was standing. "Akka you..!" She sighed.

"What happened Ishu? Why are you so blushing? And..." Vandita checked her from top to bottom and said, "Why did you wear this one? You supposed to wear some western dress right?" She again teased Ishita whose cheeks became red, "Stop it akka.."

"Ishu your eyes are saying that you like him and I think you love him."

"Akka..! I don't know.. Whether is it love or what..! I really need some time.. Actually we both need time." Ishita explained.

"Okay Ishu.. I respect your decision." Vandita said caressing her sister's hair lovingly, "Now change and go to sleep.. Good night."

"Good night akka."

As soon as Vandita walked out from her room, Ishita changed herself into some comfortable attire and jumped on to the bed. She was in her own thoughts when her eyes caught the gift box. She took it and recalled how Raman insisted her to take it and asked her to start a new relation. She inserted her sim card and immediately dialed Sanjh's number.

"Ishu where were you from morning?" Sanjh asked. "Did you meet Raman? How was he?"


"Yeah.. I met with him, he is nice. They came at our place in the evening." She told every details to her friend.

"You mean your alliance fixed?" Sanjh asked excited.

"Not really. Actually I and Raman mutually decided we will take next step after few meetings."

"Oh..! So, you decided to meet again.. Cool.." They were talking when suddenly Sanjh asked, "Is your Raman active in social media?"

"My Raman?" Ishita sarcastically asked but as the same time she blushed, "... And I don't know."

"Then check it no..! I want to see him."

"Okay wait.." Saying this Ishita logged in Facebook and searched his name. She was scanning the pictures when finally she saw him, "Yeah.. He is there." She click on his name to get a full view of his profile.

"Oh my god..! He is looking damn..." But she paused.

"Suggest me.. I want to see him." Sanjh said excited.

Ishita was surfing around the social media when she got a notification. Ishita checked and her eyes got widened, "Oh my god.."

"Now what happened?"

"He.. He sent me friend request..!" She said in shock.

"Who?" Sanjh asked like a dumb.

"You fool..! Raman.. Raman Bhalla sent me friend request."

"Really? Did you accept?" Sanjh asked.

"No..!" Ishita said scratching her neck, "I am confused. Should I accept it?"

"You are idiot.. Of course you should accept.." Sanjh was going to say something more when Ishita heard beep through her phone and she checked and saw a call coming. "Sanjh.. I'll talk with you later. Someone is calling."

"Okay." Sanjh hang up the call when Ishita wondered, "Whose number it is?" She received the call, "Hello?"

"Hi.. Ishita..!" Her heart skipped beating hearing the voice, she double check the number and still was in shock, "Who?"

"Raman speaking."

"Ra.. Raman?" She stammered. "How did you get my number?"

"I asked Shravan."

Flashback

"You go, I am coming." Raman said to Ishita when Shravan came to the garden to call them. Once Ishita left, Raman called Shravan, "Hey tingu.. Come..!"

Shravan pouted and walked to him and looked at Raman with a pout, he then put his hands on his hips saying, "Tingu? I am not tingu. I am Shravan."

Raman sighed and came on Shravan's level, "Ahh..! Okay Mr Shravan.. Can you do me a favor?"

"What will I get in return?" Shravan sarcastically asked.

"Beta yeh toh tujhse bhi bada business man nikla.." Raman thought.

"What did you say?" Shravan asked.

"No. Nothing.. Tell me what do you want?"

Shravan put his finger on his chin in manner of thinking and then said, "One remote control car, one remote control helicopter, one cricket kit bag and..."

"Hey stop.. Stop... I understand, you have a long list.. But right now I have chocolate for you. But I have a deal for you. If you do the favor for me then I will give you all these. So now say?"

"Deal?" Shravan sarcastically looked at Raman, "But you won't forget no?"

"No.. Not at all. I am a businessman and I can do anything where I find profit." Raman said.

"Okay.. Deal.." Shravan said forwarding his fist, Raman looked at his tiny fist and hit Raman's fist with him, "Done."

"Now tell me?" Raman smiled and ruffled his hair.

"I want your chitti's phone number." Raman said giving him the chocolate when Shravan got happy and told him.

Flashback ends.

Ishita laughed, "You bribed him to get my number? If you would ask me before, I would have give you and I swear I wouldn't take any bribe from you." She laughed again.

"When you smile, you look more beautiful Ish..." Raman said recalling Ishita's smiling face. And hearing this Ishita blushed and gasped, "Ish?"

"Yeah.. Is there any problem if I call you Ish?"

"No.. Usually everyone call me Ishu.."

"Yeah everyone calls you and that's why I want to call you something else which no one ever called you before." Ishita blushed hearing this, his words showed Raman's authority on her. "But if you have problem then..."

"No.. I don't have any problem." She said in middle of his words and recalling her gesture, she felt embarrass. There was a silent for another few seconds as Ishita was feeling awkward that how suddenly she blurted.

Raman felt her awkwardness, so to lightened up the moment he said, "By the way when I called you, your line was busy.."

"Yeah.. I was talking with Sanjh, my friend." She said before Raman asked further.

"Talking about?" Raman casually asked to initiate a conversation when suddenly Ishita said, "About you..!" But she instantly realized what she said. "I.. I mean.. Actually when I went to meet with you in morning, I was talking with her so she just asked me how you look and all.."

"And what you said?"

"I said you are hand..." She paused when Raman smirked. To divert the topic Ishita said, "You know Sanjh was more excited than me about you."

"Really? Actually yeah.. When you saw me you were shocked as if you found some Alian. Was I looking so bad?" Raman asked thoughtful.

"No.. Actually there was a story behind it."

"Story?" He asked confuse.

"Yeah.. But let it be..!" She tried to change the topic but Raman was adamant to hear, so she said, "You won't get angry on me."

"No..!"

"Actually.. When amma told me about you.. I.. I rejected you hearing your name."

"What?" Raman exclaimed. "What's wring in my name?"

"Raman sounds so old and so I thought the person might be at age of 40. But when I saw you my imagination broke and so..."

"... And so you were dumbstruck.. On god Ish.. You are too much..! You thought Raman would be some..." And he laughed when Ishita looked on embarrassed. "Your expression was worth watching." He again laughed.

"Now stop pulling my leg Raman.."

"I am not pulling your leg, I am laughing on your thought."

"Very funny.. Now you carry on.. I am hanging up the call.." She said disappoint and about to cut the call when Raman said, "Hey Ish listen..!"

"Okay.. I am sorry." He said suppressing his laugh.

"See, you are still smiling." She pouted.

"No.. I don't.. But to be honest, you were looking so cute." Ishita blushed.

"Really?"

"Yeah.. True. Okay listen.. Can we meet tomorrow?" He asked making her shock.

"Tomorrow?"

"Yeah.. For a lunch, if you free then?"

"Ugh.. Okay.." She replied.

"Okay then I will pick you up from your place."

"No.. No.. Actually tomorrow I will go to my college."

"Okay no problem.. Message me your college address, I will pick you up from there." He replied.

"Okay done."

"Now go and sleep.. It's too late.. Good night." He wished her.

"Yeah good night..!" Ishita was about to cut the call but again he called, "Ish?"

"Huh?"

"I sent you friend request in Facebook.."

"Okay.. I will check." She said smiling as she was staring at Raman's profile photo on her laptop screen.

"Okay. Good night."

"Hmm..!" And they hang up the call.

Ishita immediately accepted his request and checked all his photo and updates and admired him when suddenly her phone beeped. She checked the message.

"Good night Ish..!"

She trailed her finger on his message especially on her new name given by him and wished, "Good night Raman." And quickly she logged out and kept her laptop beside and covered herself to go in her dreamland.

Next morning Ishita woke up and first she checked her phone with a hope that she would get a morning wish from him but her eyes fall on the time, it was 5am. She hit on her head thinking, "He must be in deep slumber." And again she went to sleep.

Around 7am, Ishita woke up and about to gets off from bed when her phone beeped. She checked the message happily.

"Good morning Ish.."

"Good morning Raman.. Have a nice day." She replied and recalled their last night interaction when she remembered today Raman asked her to have lunch with him, she got excited to start a new day.

"Ishu.. What's your plan for today?" Vandita asked her at the breakfast table.

"Nothing akka.. Have some work in college and then will have lunch with..."

"With?" Everyone curiously looked at her.

"With Raman.."

"Oho..! Date haan..!" Vandita teased.

"It's not a date, just a casual meeting. And don't you have another work.. Always you are pulling my leg. God knows when Bala jiju will return from his trip so that you can go at your place." Ishita sulked.

"Oho Vandu.. Stop teasing her." Mrs Iyer chided suppressing her laugh.

"You all are same." And Ishita started arguing with them.

Raman walked out from washroom and walked to his wardrobe to collect a suitable outfit for himself when his eyes fall on his white suit and he recalled Ishita and he smiled brightly. He then changed into his outfit and walked to the mirror, he looked at himself when again recalled how Ishita told him that she thought he would be some old man, he again laughed mumbling, "Pagal madrasan."

He saw his phone kept on the bed, he quickly grabbed the phone and dialed her number. Other side, Ishita who was busy in arguing with her family suddenly became silent once her phone rang. Vandita checked the call ID and said, "Go.. Go..!" Ishita avoid her and excused from there.

"Hi..!" She answered.

"Good morning."

"Yeah.. Good morning."

"What's going on?" He asked.

"Nothing.. As usual Vandu akka was teasing me and today amma also joined her." She said irritated. "What are you doing?"

"Getting ready for office." Suddenly he paused when Ishita sensed that, she asked, "What happened? Why did you get silent?"

"Ishita.. I am nervous." He said serious.

"Nervous for what?"

"Today is a big day for me. I have an important meeting with some clients and if I get the project, then it will the biggest achievement in my life."

"Raman.. Keep believe on yourself. You will get what you want." She said confident.

"How? How will you so sure about that?" She asked.

"Just one of the thought." She said smiling. "Now go and get ready properly. You need to look representable."

"Yeah.." He was about to hang when asked, "Today we will meet right?"

"Yes of course."

"Okay then.. Bye."

"Bye.. And yeah drive safely." She again said and they hang up the call.

Ishita turned to leave when she saw saw Vandita and Mrs Iyer looking at her proudly. "What happened?" She asked when Mrs Iyer asked to her saying, "To whom I was handling all these days now she is handling someone, giving hope to someone, becoming his strength. Today I can see, a new Ishu and I am so proud of you kanna." Mrs Iyer kissed on her forehead with moist eyes.
