'Jab jaan par ban aaye toh kufr bhi jayez hai, maine toh sirf mohabbat ki hai'.

That dialogue I heard is from one of shows I can't seem to remember the title of, now. I haven't seen that show but saw it's promo's and that's where I heard it. Sans the religious relevance of this ruling and speaking in purely and strictly in a fictional context, that is going to be the base of my post today. The simplest translation of that sentence (minus the religious significance) would be that one is allowed deny the truth if it means saving one's life.

That's exactly what Arjun did in today's episode. I think this would be the first time I felt for Arjun the most because honestly, that guy had no idea about anything. He was just utterly confused and shaken up through out the episode. His emotions and reactions ranged from confusion to shock to panic to denial in an endless loop. I'm interested to know how Arjun is going to handle himself and his situation now because as Rida (FleetingWishes.) said so far, Arjun's always been the third perspective. Time to bring him to first perspective now. Good luck, mann, you're gonna need every bit of it. 😆

Lets dissect the episode in two halves now. First half, the confession scene (Maya-Arjun) and second half, the confrontation scene (Arjun Saanjh). I loved how these two crucial parts were written, directed and executed. This confession has to go down as one of the best on an Indian tv show for reasons that a) it was a role-reversal, a woman proposed to a man b) she does it so boldly and unabashedly c) the hot air balloon set up was a great idea, imo. We're finally past the cliched candle-lit or dinner dates setup d) the acting was some top-notch stuff, Jennifer as expected slayed it and Kushal too portrayed his part rather well. 👏

First half : If Arjun is the first half of the dialogue I cited above, Maya could be the entire dialogue. She loves Arjun and in a way that she's tied her life's thread to him. There were some extremely crucial bits in the confessions that I thought served as a symbolism at various instances. Maya lures Arjun inside the ballon, blindfolds him, handcuffs him and only frees him once he's well within her territory. Did she really have to do that? No. It was all on purpose as that indicates Maya's traits, dominance and authority. She proposes to a panic stricken and a beyond confused Arjun with the ring right in his face, never taking it down or away from him till the moment it slips out of her hand into abyss.

^^ THOSE two moments. Goodness. 😳 If that doesn't say it all, I don't know what does. In the first gif she says, 'tum mujhe mana kar rahe ho?' She says nothing of 'are you rejecting my love' or 'don't you feel the same way for me?' or anything along those lines. Instead, she says, 'are you rejecting me?' Crystal clear to understand that Maya is not the kind who would take rejection with grace or accept defeat easily. She practically gives Arjun no choice to say yes or no. Her proposal was all about, 'I love you and you have to love me back'. In second gif you can see the hint of defiance and lunacy in her. Her face literally screamed, 'koshish karke dekh lo, barbaad kar dungi' when Arjun questions her if he has the right to refuse? That Arjun cannot refuse under circumstances otherwise she will take everything down, him, her, the entire world.

Then she proceeds to turn the handle down that would not only put her life in danger but even Arjun's and then, smiles. The kind of smile she gave is the kind people give when they're going to do something destructive and they know there's no escaping it. We all know neither of them meant anything they said or did as a joke. They both backtracked and pretended to have joked. Arjun asked for some time because a) he was beyond shocked to even process the turn of events, let alone saying yes to the proposal b) he seemed legit panicked and scared, scared that Maya might do something unreasonably foolish and dangerous.

From Shruthi's perspective, it meant this. (I just mean to stress on how we all look at things from different lenses) From my perspective, I see that ring falling out of picture as a sign of the potential scope of love going out of the window. As in the kind of love Maya expects from Arjun, he may not truly be able to give her that. But he's eventually going to save her from all that she needs to be saved from. 'Tumhari jaan se badh kar nahi hai', indicates a love which is capable of destroying the two people (or more) involved is not worth it, that it is not more important than Maya's sanity and life. Arjun does genuinely care for Maya. You can see that in the way he looks at her or touches her. So, I'm going to stick to the theory of Arjun being Maya's saviour. Lovers or not, I am honestly not quite bothered about that as of now. Also, remember what Jhanvi says the moment Maya steps out of the house in yesterday's episode, 'bhagwaan meri beti ki raksha karna, uske haathon kuch galat na ho jaye'. Who would say that if they already didn't know and haven't seen what Maya is capable of?

Precap : Maya says, 'Jab Arjun ki na mein se uski na ki wajah ka saaya hatt jayega, tab Arjun haan bolega' and then shows Maya chilling and having an ice cream while Saanjh and Arjun walk away in opposite directions. Like, girl, you're a gone case. 🤣

PS I'll cover the second half (Arjun Saanjh's part) in my next post as I think this has already become long. 😆

As usual a brilliantly written post .. 👏 it's like I m reading my own thoughts but with more depth in it.

The hot air balloon proposal was a great idea. The whole look was good and Jenny was looking very beautiful with straightened hair .The scene also had a beauty ...it wasn't in a way a girl pushing herself on a guy ...not looking cheap ...Jenny has that style ...that makes it look royal and classy

Maya s proposal ...it was not a proposal but a trap for arjun and arjun like Jerry searching cheese fell into the trap. Now there is no way out.

Its clear that arjun may not love Maya but he will take care of her ...
precap. ..jhanvi was scared about arjun a answer ...
Like she was more scared of what will happen to arjun if it's no.😆

When Maya was coming close by ...Arjun is like throw me out of job ...but leave me 😆

Waiting for post on confrontation scene ...I liked when saanjh said call me saanjh not dusky ...
