Hi,
Thank you all for reading and replying to my first post on this forum.
Like I wrote previously I usually don't write till a show excites me enough to do so, YRKKH is heading towards exciting for me.
I have taken some advice and I have gone to watch some listed episodes of YRRKH in full detail and I am afraid the character Kartik (Not the actual person) still comes up wishy washy... Please do not rain on this parade just yet...Let me explain...
YRRKH being the family oriented friendly show that it is, have never gone this far when it comes to touchy-feelly in presenting their couples. We saw the Akshara /Karan love story well played without or with limited implications of physical contact, we also saw that the son Naksh/Tara went the same route. Did they introduce the dream sequences which depicted physicalness in the Naira/Karthik couple to try to entice the ''new generation'' while keeping the ''old generation''. Lets pause for a second, 1,2,3 dream sequences would have been enough but it started to get really creepy. I also found the interaction between Karthik and Misthi quite cheesy!
Do not take this the wrong way. From previous posts that I have written, all criticisms are directed mostly towards the writers and the production team. I am not interested in the actors and actresses as personals. More so , I will be completely dismayed if the production team show Kartik the character trying to commit suicide ( I read it some where on the forum). I however love the introduction of the father, strong and unwavering with more/better depth. Lets see how Kartik holds his own against a very strong character who is his father.
What works for me is the innocence portrayed by Naira... I actually don't mind that she ran away from home.
I believe production houses have a way of depicting hindi heroines as goody goody two shoe ladies which are not realistic. I like the way she emotes her scenes, it is subtle and not over done. I even love the acne standouts on her face (there are like freckles) , it shows she's human. I will take it any day above an over plummed /botoxed lip ( not mentioning any names).
However, I feel she looks best in indian attire maybe cos I am western. Beyonce in an hindi attire for the cold play song "Hymns for the weekend" will always fall short for me when compared to most hindi actresses.
The dress Naira wore during the post-love-confession-date with Kartik was just dreadful, I wouldn't wear that dress if I was an eleven years old.
As a half spanish/white female who loves authentic hindi shows , married to an indian man who hates everything hindi shows, hindi attires stand out each time especially on hindi people.
To aptly conform to the title of this write up, I think 'Love' like 'Music' is universal. I was pleasantly surprised when Hinaholics and Shivagians seem to think one is better over the other. I believe a beautifully told love story will always be one, no matter if it be modern or traditional. Love knows no boundaries nor age.
Can I just take a moment to reach out to Hinaholics and Shivagians... Either way you see it, these characters are both about YRKKH. So the fact that we are talking about it means the show is gaining notoriety which is good. Can you be kind to each other. Try to be kind when you are writing... even when you are critiquing.
Did I do a comparison that riled some of you up, I am so sorry that was never my intention.
My interest in the actress playing Naira made me go researching her biography and previous work, which led me to find that "Other Show".
It was not meant to be spiteful in anyway or form.
In fact I think Shivagians should actually be happy that her presence in YRKKH made me discover that "Other show" and that "Other Character" (You see, I am not naming names, Lolz). I am too lazy to go back to my other post to copy names where some1 said they were actually more versed in "The other show" Shivangi was in than I would ever be.
I gladly crown you the ''Die hard fan" of that show. I am not competing, all I tried to convey was the other guy's screen presence which jumped right out at me on watching it on youtube.
Can I say 'thank you' for the private message I got telling me the 'Other show' is now running in the US on Zee TV,now I can understand what they are actually saying instead of those short youtube clips.
I am looking forward to more from the production team of YRRKH, lets see how they manage to develop this Naira and Kartik character.
PS:
What are the production team trying to do with the Naksh character... Did he die already or isn't he supposed to be a central character... Wont he mourn his own mother??
Thanks for the read, Ciao.
