I do not believe that any character in this show represents nayi soch. Even the conceptual concept of this show was un-original and borrowed from two highly popular movies that are more than a decade old. So there is no new soch here. You guys want Nayi Soch, then watch TVF Pitchers on youtube. However, accidentally while developing the characters and justifying their situations and building up to the crux of the story that was to be the writers inadvertently hit a nayi soch that people, especially the younger generation of women related to. Now the creative team is having a hard time justifying that and still moving the story in their originally planned track. Having shared that perspective on the show and its trajectory, I would like to comment on the characters themselves as they stand.
Ravish is different in that he is not the male chauvinist of most serials. But we have seen this type of character before, sooner or later this type of character succumbs to the pressures of the situation and stops being the 'nayi soch'. I hope Ravish continues to be as good and strong as he is portrayed, but he is not given enough space or maybe there isn't good screen presence for him to establish that trust with viewers.

Vividha started off as the typical heroine of any show. There was nothing new in her character. However, the minute she displayed a rare trait of heroines in having an original thought, that is not influenced by her feelings she became a strong contender for 'nayi soch'. However, i will still maintain that she is not yet as evolved as she can be. She started a journey of evolving as an adult as a mature person capable of self-reflection and analysis and able to take decisions based on an understanding of her own values that are not dictated by customs and norms but by what is her moral center. However, that journey seems to have been halted at present by the circumstances that she is in. I now see a woman who is so hassled by the upheaval in her life that she has lost the ability to use her brain at all and is just moving along with the waves of life and is ruled by her emotions once again.

Atharv, he did represent 'nayi soch' in some aspects but he is also the typical angry young man of every 70's/80's movie who cannot control his frustration towards the less evolved beings around him. He tries to help the said individuals imbibe the newer evolved thoughts into their monotonous existence to help them be able to live instead of just being alive. However he expects a miracle out of everyone and gets frustrated when they don't readily accept his thoughts. He lacks the patience required to achieve the results he wanted to see...a change in people's thought process.
This is where Vividha's evolution came in as a foil to his lack of patience. Together these two became capable of changing the world...because where Atharv got distracted by his pain and frustration, Vividha became his balm and his voice, and where Vividha becomes confused between right and wrong he becomes the guiding star bringing her back to her own moral center. This is the reason these two became such a hit jodi (apart from the actors' ability to emote the feelings). Before Shivani and Vikram established a chemistry with each other, the characters became two pieces of the puzzle and that only helped the actors.

Now with Ravish, I don't see that equation coming to the fore clearly. I would hope that all three of them become a force instead of breaking up the 'nayi soch' that was established by the original two characters. I wish that Ravish's entry into the show as to promote a different aspect of nayi soch...and show that relationships don't always have to be so white and black but instead could be as complicated as they are in real life.

Hey JC... I really liked your thoughts.
I am not heavily invested in this show. Watch it on and off. Joined post Ravish and not a fan of any character as such.

Personally, I feel there is nothing new about the show or its characters, that can qualify for 'nayi soch'. A few bits of evolvement are displayed by every character, but no character sketch is truly outstanding

I feel as if we are still watching a popular concept of 90s wrapped in a new style gift wrap.

Otherwise it offers a quite illogical and non practical storyline.

I don't comment much on this forum, but your post intrigued me to share my thoughts.

I agree with latter half of ur post .But I am sincerely hoping the end won't be the same as the two movies u said. I don't think PH would have spent almost 4 months for developing a luv story they eventually does not want to have a happy ending.I think d excess of intimate scenes is not only a trp thing but also some kind of declaration. If vitharv finally end up together then that will be something new

I agree with your character sketches of Atharv and Vividha. However, their flaws are what make them real. Even more importantly, both characters have shown the capacity for growth and evolution. In a medium like desi TV, for me that alone is nayi soch.
Also, all of us like to think of ourselves as evolved. Yet, we remain a product of our conditioning. I think both of these characters have the right mix of these nature vs. nuture traits. Vividha's docility vs. her struggle for independence. Atharv's anger/revbellliousness vs. his struggle toward patience/forgiveness.
Phase 2 has stalled the growth of these characters because there were too many new supporting characters to establish at once, and these CVs may not be particularly good at multitasking. 😆

I will not comment on Ravish because for me, the character sketch was messed up from the first note. They presented him as honest, yet the first thing we saw him do was lie to everyone around him. They presented him sharp and intelligent, yet he remained oblivious to even the basic events happening around him. I could go on. Anyway, point is, all the contradictions between the theoretical adjectives and the actions never allowed me to connect.

Finally, call me a foolish optimist, but I genuinely believe the CVs set out with a unique story in mind. And so far, they have had the gumption to stick to it. Albeit in a haphazard manner in terms of execution.😛

I will agree that phase 2 execution is lacking based on what has been witnessed in this show before that. And optimism my friend is an intellectual choice. I would have stopped watching a month ago if i wasn't as optimistic as you. ;)
