Yesha Harsora opens up about survival in the entertainment industry

Yesha Harsora, who is currently seen as Tapasya in Jagadhatri, feels that patience is the key to survival in the entertainment industry. But she adds that luck also plays an important role.

She said, "To survive in the entertainment industry, one needs a lot of patience. Luck also plays a role. Many people work very hard but still don’t reach where they want to. For them, patience is the key."

A Name Rooted In Destiny

Yesha has people talking not just about her performance but also about her name. Answering all the curiosity around it, she said, "My name comes from Yashoda Maiya. When my mom was pregnant, she heard my name in a song on TV. My aunt suggested it because it was unique and suited my zodiac sign. That’s how I got my name. It also means destiny."

And it's this destiny that brought her into the industry. Though she has studied banking and insurance, the doors to acting opened wide for her. She said, "When I was in school and college, people suggested I try acting, but I never thought about it seriously. But slowly, my sister Neha and I started giving auditions. I used to shoot her auditions on my phone back then. She started getting daily shows."

"I gave just one audition without telling anyone, and surprisingly, I got selected. That was my first show, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, and that’s how my journey started," she added.

From Doubt To Confidence

But her journey was not entirely smooth. She said, "My journey had many ups and downs. One of my shows got scrapped, and I felt unsure. But my sister motivated me a lot. She reminded me that when people offer lead roles, it means they see something in me. That gave me confidence."

And a recent fan moment boosted her morale further. She said, "While shooting for Jagadhatri at Film City, a very cute little girl recognized me from far away and started shouting 'Tapasya ma’am.' She gathered so many people and kept praising me. After my scene, everyone wanted pictures. I even applied lipstick on her and told her she looked beautiful too. It was very sweet."

But she doesn't relate to her character at all. She said, "She’s rude, self-centered, and doesn’t care about anyone except her parents. But such people do exist in real life, especially the stereotypical stepsister behavior, which is why many viewers relate to her."

She also shared advice for aspiring actors and said, "I haven’t personally done theater or workshops, but I feel anyone who seriously wants to get into acting should definitely do theater and attend workshops. From what I’ve heard and seen, it really helps."
