interesting take - sorta like the behind the scenes article i saw earlier this year that talked about how the dress of the FL and vamp is varied and other cheap mind tricks...and more importantly what a pathetic view of society 🤢

I got a fellow US raised friend to watch YHM and well now I feel quite shameful at introducing her to the ugly 🤔

And it's not just feminism being left at the door - it's basic progress in society and humanity that's being thrown in the trashcan.

What do people enjoy seeing jerk monster men who can't do anything but screw up, torturing saasumas, creepy and sexually open vamps, and crying, oppressed yet positive women? 🤢

I don't exactly know what you mean when you say TRP aunties are better. However, I agree with what you've said here. if people blame makers they must understand that somehow they are also responsible for letting those makers continue to show such content

Personally, I don't watch TV because well it doesn't suit my preferences but then I don't also criticize it 😳 cos dude, if you don't like it, you DO NOT watch it! Talking big here doesn't matter a zilch! I believe if you wanna make a difference become the difference!

I don't think indian television shows makers change the television series concepts if audiences not ready to change their test & adopted new way of thinking or ideas, just see new shows trp most of them less than 1.5 either they have mindblowing stories, I don't blame makers they give what audiences want to see , most of new show beginning with new ideas but in the meddle they turn to use same old formula same saas bahu saga , FL vis Vamp or hate love story between rich guy & simple girl etc
Few shows nowdays get unlimited success like YHM complete 3 years & 1000 episodes it's biggest success to BT after many flopped shows

Pretty much valid for every tv industry anywhere in the world. K-dramas, Turkish dramas , Pak dramas , English shows- cinematography, direction, presentation, packaging varies and Indian shows go on for months/years and are daily feed. Otherwise pathos , structurally stories are all similar. Heck Shonda is nothing but another Ekta.

Unless the tv programming changes to weekly broadcast and shows go for pilot system or are reviewed for renewals periodically, it won't change.

Unfairly everyone blames the "trp audience" when every viewer post a show's shelf life is in it for the "actors" or the community feeling of a show rather than story .

Ekta is not wrong in selling out the shit , she does. It sells , normal and she knows everyone will lap it because of actor loyalty.

Vamp is given skimpy clothes and always is the story of her shows because good vs bad. FLs are superwoman and male - bark/fight/smolder/mute.

Beyond a point the actors ham to all their glory and none of them really care for the show/story or character. I bet 90% won't even have a clue about the role they play.

How many of the sensible audience on the internet watch POW , by no means a perfect show but it is the only one which has prime central female characters with nuances and sensible. Yet the internet audience would be more active and vocal for shows which are regressive shit- YHM, IB , Kumkum etc .

Forget trp aunties, I wonder about sns calculator or comparison- internet audience laps up the shitty shows more than anything.

Exactly! I've thought about the same approach several times. This may help quality enhance and the pressure of TRP may also reduce. All in all, it would be largely beneficial

To be honest, actors just want to act. Therefore, why would they bother with the story?

I'm not quoting your whole post but what you've said in entirety I so agree with! People are so busy criticising the bad content that even if they have good content right in front of their eyes they are most affected with the bad and are just concerned with getting rid of it. The problem is how do you eliminate the bad if you don't even bother to glimpse at the good!?
