What I don't understand is how Durdhara's hands were so badly burnt/peeled off when she had just applied a little haldi on Nandini, but Nandini, who was covered in the poisoned haldi, didn't have any rash/irritation on her face or anywhere.

Both Durdhara and Nandini came in contact with haldi at the same time.
