here you go guys... thnx for giving me this chance :D slightly long one, sorry. hope it's not boring or anything.

She sat in a daze as she watched him. He had skillfully managed to pluck out the thorn that had hurt her foot. Wrapping a clean hand kerchief around the wound, he stood up to face her. There it was. That expressionless face again. She wished she could read him, see through those piercing orbs and find out how exactly he saw her and most of all- why he had helped her when all he should be doing was watch her suffer.

"that should do..." he said nonchalantly. She blinked when she looked at his now outstretched hand, motioning her to take it.

"It's okay to depend on someone while you're weak, Miss Oberoi..." he spoke, sensing her hesitation.

His words were calm, devoid of any malice. The youngest Oberoi was thoroughly confused at this. And it only added to her nervousness.

Why was he helping her? If this wasn't a trap then what was it?

"I... I... Sh- Shouldn't... d-depend on someone l-like... y-y-you..." She spoke, gulping nervously.

"Someone like me..."

ACP Randhawa laughed, repeating the words. It was a dry laugh, lacking emotion. Before she could respond, she found herself being dragged away. His hand had caught hers and his pace was quickly leading them towards the Aashram. That's right. He was leading her back and she let him. Priyanka Singh Oberoi hardly knew to fight back. Her defenses were weak, especially against this guy from the Police.

And so like a prince- No, he wasn't a prince. Priyanka reasoned- a prince wouldn't let his princess walk with a bleeding foot, Randhawa brought her to the Aashram. Asking a volunteer to properly bandage her foot. He was gone. As Priyanka sat there calming her pounding heart, a question still haunted her. Why... Why did he help her out?

Little did she know, someone on the other side was facing the same question.
