I think we can all agree that this spineless, thoughtless and most selfish Dev is the worst of the worst husbands out there in the real world (barring the physically abusive husbands).

Agree with you.
I was so surprised to see Dev in today's episode. We all know that he is the mamma's boy. The way they showed today, he couldn't tell his mom that he needs to pick up his wife, is too much. That is not reality. I don't think, anyone would do that. Dev would have never done that.At the same time, Sona is being insensitive even after knowing that Dev being getting hurt from the swing. Sona was shown always sensible and mature. I could not believe, she refuse to understand Dev's trouble.Based on the segment, Sona was okay with Dev not able to pick her up. I can understand her not showing displeasure infront of family. The girl who fought with Dev for not learning to do chores, she was okay with that because she doesn't want spoil his birthday. That is also unbelievable.I will completely blame writers for that. They should have come with the better drama instead of what they are showing now for the separation.May be I am odd one here. But the love between Devakshi still appeal to me. I remember once Sona said "No one is perfect but the feeling is." Dev couldn't enjoy his birthday without Sona. Their love is pure and real. I'm hoping, the writers will show how Dev will balance these relationship without butchering their character further.

I am one of the biggest Devakshi fans but since this whole mess started, I am not feeling Dev and his love. Coz I don't believe love can be compartmentalized that way. And this makes me sad. Earlier, whenever the series went through a bad phase, I used to get my KRPKAB high by watching old episodes and VMs and now, I can't bear to watch them because everything Dev utters in those scenes does not translate to what he is now.And that makes me all the more angry with the writers of the show.

I was thinking about Diwali episodes when Sona gets hurt because of crackers.Dev promised his mom that he will go with her to the temple. But when he comes to know Sona is hurt, he completely forget about Ishwari. Ishwari waits for few minutes then go to the temple by herself with the driver at night. When Dev comes to know that his mom is already left, but he wanted to go but stops when his mamaji says it is okay she will come with Driver. If we look at today's episode, Dev wanted to go but couldn't tell his mom that Sona is waiting for him. He sends driver so that she can come home. What I am trying to say, Dev was in the similar situation but he sends the driver. But I did not see any posts on this forum saying that his mother went all alone to the temple at night and Dev should have gone as it was their tradition. About safety, whatever..What I see whoever watches this show, most of them are young, or married. We feel Sona's pain because we can relate to that. Ishwari is extreme at the same time we can not relate to her as we are not at that stage yet.I wrote this somewhere...if they wanted to show that Sona's surprise birthday would flop, they could have showed Dev picking up Sona from their party venue and celebrated with his family. It would have served the drama purpose. It was okay if he sent driver to pick up Sona, but the writer failed to show the valid reason why Dev was not able to tell this to his mom.Kuch rang story is very sensitive. CV's needs to be very careful when it comes to Dev and Sona.
