Looking at the waves crashing upon the black rocks, Priyanka thought back to the sunny winter day in the ashram when she had first seen this man in a way that had left her unsettled in a manner she had never been before.

She had followed guruji into the meditation chamber. ACP Randhawa, who seemed to be Ranveer here, was waiting at the alcove near the doorway with a few other monks. Guruji had nodded at him with a smile of such genuine warmth and affection, that Priyanka's tumultous emotions seemed to be in danger of breaking out in a shriek or a sob. She desperately clutched at her dupatta, willing herself to be silent. All the peace she had felt that morning seemed a distant dream. Demons from a hell that she had grown so familiar with surrounded her, threatening to choke her.

Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder. Gasping, she turned to look into the eyes of that man.

"Everyone has gone to the prayer room. We should join them."

She looked on in a state of surprised perplexity as he held his hand forward as if waiting for her to slip her hand into his.

Will be interesting to see how you weave this in. Flashback mode? Or do you want to include it at some later point in the story?
