Respect and Res(erved) 😆

So beautifully written, my love, so absolutely beautifully written I've bookmarked it for rereads for the future, when Daksh comes out with the creepiness, and we have to grit out teeth and take it. For me, the Daksh storyline is like we are going to the dentist, and just have to deal with the pain and the drilling and the winces, because we know its good for us, soon it will be over, and we will have a healthier time. Honestly, Daksh scenes are like medicine for me now-- abhi aakhen band kar ke ugalo, better feel karogi 4-8 weeks ke baad. So thank you for this rational, detailed and still very kind read on a character we actually DO need, whether we want it, or not.

To stretch my analogy further, as Om has pointed out again and again, there is no NEED for the disconnect, the distance for Shivaay and Anika. His jhaap is such an artifical construct it is being merrily ripped apart by another owner of khoon/ khandaan/ naam and paisa. Daksh is his childhood friend, after all--and 300 crores is nothing to sneeze at. He is an established architect, of the same social standing as Tia or Mallika, or them. Since (irrespective of his nature) he is publicly choosing Anika, Shivaay has to see his belief is stupid if it doesn't even apply to his best friend. So Om saying, now, let your heart do its thing, and your brain will follow, let them work together, so you are not cut into half, so you are not deprived of any of your intellect--or your love. That is something Daksh will show is possible.

Also, I had to comment because of that passage where you described why he doesn't even admit to HER why he can sense her presence. Its his own little secret. he's used it to find her when she's in danger, to track her down around the house. But also for really small moments, which is my favorite, like you would do if you had a tiny little super power-- in his room, when she's coming and he actually tries it out, to see it working...closing his eyes when she approaches, saying her name without looking up, or reaching behind him when she's hovering with s snake-- just testing it for himself, and kind of being triumphant every time it works. But just like his dimaag that is making a bheja-fry of his heart, its a sense that is based on the heart, and will go wrong if its not being used..
Thank you for this. You have expressed it so much more beautifully than I did. I did equal that to his Kryptonite (heart ruling his head) in my other post but you have done much more. I love the way you put it, so much detail. Thank you again 😊

When he's not using his heart, his sense of her it fails him in spectacular ways--when he chose to not go to her house after calling out her name, though he knew his heart was hammering in fear, he did it because of Tia's words in his head. When he was arguing about Tia and Anika to Om, not sensing her presence, it was the one time his ESP should have worked FASTER. But it didn't because he was letting his brain overcome his feelings. That is what comes of the disconnect. Shivaay will hopefully have a few weeks of learning this lesson via Daksh.

It is a lesson that almost literally cost Anika her life, and today, symbolically, cost him his.

Yes... yes.. and another yes. Ah! you said it much more beautifully again 👏

Asya, again a wonderfully written analysis on Daksh and SSO's Anika radar. Beautiful and makes for a reread.

Daksh and his actions, his blatant provocative questions and prodding for answers from Shivaay have opened a new window, though which he is going to be the outsider looking in. SSO was very much the outsider looking at DAksh boldly proposing and professing his love for Anika. This attitude and boldness that she LIKED on Diwali day will surely haunt him in the days before his impending doom.😉 He calls her family, is very protective and can sense her.. but he is too pigheaded to acknowledge that what he feels is much deeper and is LOVE. What an irony that when Anika said yes to Daksh's proposal, she looked at Shivaay, who had done the same when he put the ring on Tia's finger. He also added for good measure that no one could change his decision. Now the crows have come home to roost and he is gonna roast slowly in the fires of jealousy.

Your take on his Trust and senses was simply terrific. True that when he followed his heart, he has come up trumps and when he doesn't, he fails. He accused her earlier on so many occasions and this time he is going to cry wolf till he is blue in the face and she is not going to listen to him.

Omru's reaction was kind of tame.. maybe they want him to arrive at a conclusion that he loves Anika. It is a journey that he has to undertake by himself. Anika is done waiting for an explanation or for Shivaay to declare himself. All she hears are his taunts and accusations that are ringing in her ears. She had made a wrong move to quieten her heart and the words that have CUT DEEP into her soul. She is a lifeless body as is Shivaay when he saw Anika accept his friend's HAND.

Wow, so much has been written in the forum it and took me a while to wrap my head around, so insightful on Shivika and their story.

another thing I noted.. she was careful not to address him as Shivaay or billuji... just thank you. He even smiled at her... wow...gadha singh oberoi... and moved his nose up a bit more during the thanks... his ego is monumental and so is hers. She had a steel rod up her back when he congratulated her and then looked at him with deep disappointment and what more can i expect from you.. look. she gave him one last chance and he failed there too. Now she is going to royally ignore him and treat him with disdain which is going to make him climb walls in sheer frustration. 😆

Today, I hated Daksh with a vengeance after seeing Shivaay and Ani bleed with the pain of it all in today's episode but I am forced to agree with every word that you said.

Till now, Shivaay had always taken Anika for granted. Even when he was engaged or partaking in his wedding preparations, I think he never realized what he would do if he lost her.Initially I thought that he was okay being married to Tia , but after the Karwa chauth scene, I didn't believe it.I don't know whether he assumed that she would be waiting in the sidelines or just plainly refused to acknowlege that she would ever be lost to him. I think that train of thought had never crossed his mind till Daksh entered the picture. Till he began to take away his rights to her one by one. The right to be there for her, the right to care for and protect her.Till he came, Shivaay was always the number one on her speed dial!!This was why everyone wanted a jealousy track in the first place!!

I would be lying if I said that Ani accepting Daksh's proposal sat well with me. It was an impusive decision taken at one of Ani's weakest moments,when she was hurt and vulnerable , clouded by her anger and more to prove Shivaay wrong than anything else at that moment when he dared to decide for her. But it is the biggest step that could take Shivaay and Ani's story forward!! When he sees what he is going to lose her forever, Shivaay will realise his folly in placing Name, Khoon or Khaandaan above all else! His protective instincts, his jealousy and his inability to see her shower her affections on anyone else besides him will cause Shivaay to break and finally act on his feelings that he has been trying so hard to not acknowlege!!

With very misunderstanding that comes between them, will force Shivaay to think more ( I sure hope so atleast). I admit I am apprehensive about how ONS MU will be cleared before the wedding. I want it cleared , not only for Shivaay to understand Daksh's true colours but to make him overcome one of his greatest weaknesses, an achilles heel he is almost proud of- to trust his mind above all else and to learn instead to trust his heart where Ani is concerned!! And to follow it!

I just loved what you wrote

<font color="#CC00CC">
DAKSH THE CATALYST, AS OPPOSED TO DAKSH THE CUPID:
</font>
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">I know we all so wanted Daksh to be the secret cupid for
Shivika when he first arrived to OM, me included. I think I even went to the
extent of wishing that it was a plan that Om and Daksh may have hatched
together to get " Bone-Headed Singh Oberoi" to realize his mistake in marrying
Tia. But alas, it was not to be so and I sulked silently at why Ms. Gul had
thrown such a good chance away.
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">But as time passed and Daksh the obsessive negative character
developed I began to see the significance he would have in bringing about
Shivika. His negativity would have more of an impact on them than playing a
mere cupid. As a cupid Daksh would have only tricked Shivvay into admitting
that he was a jealous rival and make him act on those emotions. It is way too
soon to expect Shivvay, or Annika for that matter, to fall in love. There has
been no buildup of anything but mere attraction and the need to protect each
other as of now. Love is still a very distant country and the journey has not
yet begun. But we have the foundation of love being laid right now and as we
all agree it is TRUST.
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">The basis of any relationship be it friends, parents,
siblings or spouse is strengthened on the basis of trust. More importantly, YOUR level of trust in relation to them not so much as whether they have earned or deserve that trust. We trust our parents as it is a natural instinct - it comes from 'feelings'. We trust a friend or distrust them again mostly on the basis of feeling and so on and so forth.
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">Right now as it stands, Shivvay trusts and respects Tia because
she has risen to the occasion multiple times and has gone a step further to overlook
and forgive Annika's attempts to disgrace her. I agree, Tia is one sharp girl.
Annika has, on the other hand, proven to be impulsive and reckless in her
conclusions about Tia betraying him. So if you stack the cold, clinical facts of Tia and Annika - Tia wins. It is what anyone with a logical mind would do. Elementary My Dear Watson! But even Sherlock listened to his gut and tuned in his instinct like a blood hound when he was on a case. It is not because he had studied the human psychology but because was always open to learning something new. That is where Shivvay's weakness lies, his preconceived notions about the lower middle class even though his grandfather belonged to that same social class. I will not mention Pinky as she only serves to strengthen his belief rather than break it down.
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">With Daksh coming on to the scene now
Shivvay has been placed in the position that Annika was in. Shivvay will now be
crying wolf?" not Annika. His attempts
to expose Daksh might be met with the same failure as Annika's did.
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">But that is not what Daksh's role is supposed to bring
about. Daksh is the much needed catalyst to bring about that change in Shivvay
that needs to be deeper than the attraction and possessiveness he feels for
Annika. Shivvay needs to trust his feelings for Annika more than he needs to
trust Annika herself. He did say to Om that his heart could not believe Annika
could be the person Tia said she was but since he thinks with is mind the
logical explanation would be that Tia is right. Tia has never been wrong or
vindictive so why would she start now?
</font>

<font color="#CC0099">TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE:</font>

<font color="#0000FF">Shivvay has a trust issue but it is not with Annika, it is
with himself. He does not trust HIS INNER SELF - HIS INSTINCT that Om has tried
time and again to awaken in his brother. Shivvay needs not only to open all his
senses, which he has done already, but now he needs to START trusting them. He feels
her presence, he senses her moods, he understands her actions, silences and
even the subtle meaning of her sentences, he can feel his whole body respond to
any and all reactions she may be having to fear or pain, no matter that she is
in another part of town. He knows her ups and her downs, he smiles when she is
happy and is sad when she is unhappy, he feels her indecisiveness and makes the
decision on her behalf (the proposal) with the certainty that it is a "no". And
that is the connection HE has fine-tuned with respect to anything that is
Annika.
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">He shares everything with his brothers but this ESP
connection that is a part of him and her he has kept jealously guarded to
himself till recently. It has been his special thing that he has savored and
enjoyed - his private treasure to guard.
No one and nothing, neither Om nor Rudra, compelled him to do that, it was what he did
all on his own. Even the object of his connection is not aware of how he does
it and has questioned him with a puzzled look many times.
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">And how right he has
been all the times in the past in reading this connection. But what happened today? How could he have completely misread it today??? What went wrong??? How did she say the opposite of what he
said?? He thought he could read, feel, respond and identify with all that she
is? What has changed?? Those are the
questions buzzing in his head and unfortunately the answer lies within him.
Till Shivvay realizes that it is HE who changed not Annika because he failed to
sense her with all his senses he cannot begin his journey whether it is with
Tia or Annika.
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">
</font>

<font color="#0000FF">So you see that is where Daksh's one night stand comes in.
It is the ultimate litmus test for Shivvay and his so called ESP. Does he trust
it or does he not? Annika's body language and her subtle gestures should be
easy for him to read if he is that tuned to her. Her dislike of Tia and the
many questions in her eyes should be clue enough for him to realize something
is amiss. Just like the puzzled look he gave when she asked him if he had
handed the money to Tia to give it to her. He needs to pause and act on those
feelings not brush them aside, he needs to trust his instinct about her and follow it and most of all he needs to balance
his heart and mind which are not in sync even though he claims that they are.
</font>

U have said it absolutely correctly...Daksh is not the Cupid...cupid is the one that creates the love between 2 people with his magical heart-shaped arrow. A catalyst, on the other hand, just speeds up a reaction that wud have otherwise been very slow or might not have taken place at all...
Shivaay needs to overcome hus prejudices of khoon, khandan and what not to accept Anika with all his heart. And this is where the presence of Daksh will help. Shivaay needs to understand that trusting Anika, his feelings for her, and protecting her from harm at all costs is way more important than his prejudices. This will happen when he realizes that Daksh is actually a creep... His need to save Anika from that lecher will triumph over his prejudices...and that is when he'll finally accept Anika for who she is.

Ahhh I loved your post 👏👏👏
I don't have anything to add so i will just sum up all this in this sentence ... "For every love story to progress, a third person is needed, so that the couple can realize how much they need to be together." 😉
I don't like the way daksh is doing this but whatever is happening for shivika emotionally, it was surely needed ... 👍🏼
