Rajinikanth's 2.0 first look launch: Salman Khan arrives uninvited, steals limelight
Just minutes before the brief Q and A with the media was slated to begin Salman Khan made a surprising entrance, walked right up to Rajinikanth and greeted him with reverence.
Just minutes before the brief Q and A with the media was slated to begin, a team member of 2.0 rushed towards Akshay Kumar and whispered something in his ear while pointing in the direction of the entrance door. Akshay immediately got up from his chair, walked up to the entrance and welcomed a celeb who seemed to have walked in almost towards the fag end. And while one thought nothing could be bigger than Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar under the same roof, here enteredSalman Khan shocking and surprising all and sundry.
After exchanging pleasantries with Akshay, Salman walked right up to Rajinikanth and greeted him with reverence. Host Karan Johar then invited Salman on stage and in his own inimitable style Bollywood's chronic bachelor regaled the crowd with a Rajini anecdote.
Addressing the legend as Rajini garu, Salman said, "I just wanted to see Rajini garu. He is the most amazing man. I have a lot of respect for him. I wasn't invited but got to know about the launch and came here. We were once doing a shoot together - jhumma chumma. And when I went to the bathroom, Rajini garu was there throwing cigarettes and catching it with his mouth. I asked him, "What are you doing?" He said, "There is a lot of wind outside. So I am doing it here" It was an open air concert and very cold and windy outside. So I went backstage to see if Rajini could catch the cigarette with his mouth in one go and he did it in one single shot."
Salman also had high words of praise for Akshay Kumar. Calling him Akki, Salman said, "He is very talented and hardworking. He is the only actor who has grown further and further while all of us have remained stagnant."
The superstar Khan also praised the first look of 2.0 and said that he was eagerly looking forward to watching the film post its release.
