He Was Always Hers

He knew, he knew that he should have told her the truth, but how could he? He sat up and looked down at his wife who was sleeping peacefully next to him.

He was on top of the world when he found out that he, no they are going to be parents. It was probably best if he tells her the truth now, but will it harm her or their child he wondered.

He had initially objected to this marriage as he loved another yet he was forced by his parents to marry his wife. On his wedding night, he had gone over to his lover's place to tell her that they should break up.

He knew he should have done it sooner but with all the preparations going on for his wedding, he couldn't find the time to meet her. The only time he was free was after the wedding hence the reason he went to her place that night.

However he had never thought that his wife would have followed him there. He had been relieved on his way home as he thought that finally he will be able to accept his wife wholeheartedly yet all his hopes came crashing down when she asked him about his lover.

He had kept quiet while she asked him questions as he felt bad for not telling her why he went there before he left. However the final blow that she gave him was not of a divorce but a permission to continue his relationship with his lover.

He had never felt so angry and guilty in his whole life, the mere thought of him cheating on his wife and meeting his lover was so awful. He had wanted to vent his anger at her and ask her how could she even suggest that when she loves him.

He knew she loves him before they even got married yet he failed to understand how she was willing to take in all those things she had said. If only she knew that he has cut all ties with his lover that day.

He wondered how things would have played out if he had only told her or if she had not followed him there. Would they be in bed right now sleeping peacefully or would they be spending some special moments together?

He could never forgive himself for the hurt that he had unintentionally put her through and he wanted to tell her so desperately that he was never going to cheat on her. He had tried many times to tell her the truth yet every time he prepares himself to do so, she opens her lovely mouth and speaks words that hurt him and he in turn hurt her by keeping the truth from her.

Any other man would have killed to have a wife like his who was willing to accept her husband's infidelity but he was not that type of a man. He swore to himself on the day their marriage was fixed that he will be faithful to his future wife yet now he was standing at this crossroad.

He knew he had to tell her now that they are going to have a family of their own. She had to know that he had never strayed from her. She has to know that he is in love with her. Yes, he had come to love his wife, how could he not when he knew the depth of her love for him.

He so wants to shower his wife with so much love and pamper her with gifts for she will be giving him the greatest gift possible. Of course he was afraid on how she would react knowing he had hid the fact that he was faithful to her all this while but he has to let it all out. He couldn't let his past come in between his present, he had his wife and child to think of.

He decided to tell her all the truth he had kept quiet about the next day and vowed to be by her side while she overcomes the shock of the news.

Nothing could have prepared him for the relief and joy that flood through her face when he told her he had never dishonored her or their marriage. Not to mention the blush that crept on her cheeks when he told her that he loves her and the sweet smile that she had on her lips that made him weak on his knees.
