Chapter 18 - Happiness Overload

Recap - Jodha gets to know Jalal's parents. Humayun and Hamida approve of Jodha for their son Jalal.
Jodha and Jalal spent some previous moments before the wedding and Jodha finally tells Jalal the words he has been waiting to hear.

He couldn't believe his ears, was he dreaming yet again he asked himself. Did Jodha really confess to him or was it another one of his dreams where Jodha confesses to him? As he kept pondering on what just happened, Jodha began to get nervous as to why Jalal wasn't reacting to her confession. It was as though he didn't... rather he wasn't happy about it.

Was it not the right time? She wondered. Did I ruin the moment we just shared? She felt tears brimming her eyes and fought hard from letting it fall.

As Jalal realise that he hadn't said anything, he looked down at Jodha and found that he was right, there were tears in her eyes. He brought his right palm on her left cheek and caressed it with his thumb. She kept her eyes down, afraid that he might say it wasn't the right time or place. But the silly thing didn't know that Jalal was grinning like a fool as he asked her "Did you just say what I heard you say?"

She shook her head saying no as tears started to flow down her cheeks. Jalal tipped her head up to meet her eyes yet she wasn't ready to do so.

"So you did not say those words I've been longing to hear then?

Again she shook her head.

"Did I do something wrong Jodha? Why are you crying? "He asked as he brushed off her tears with both hands.

This time she just stood still.

He on the other hand hugged her, kissed the crown of her head and said "You know I love you Jodha, and I am willing to wait for no matter how long you need to feel the same way as I. You don't have to feel bad for taking some time to confess to me. And I wouldn't want you to feel pressured into saying it. I want you to be ready for it."

As he finished speaking, Jodha clutches his shirt and let out a sob. Jalal patted her back and kissed her softly as before.

When the sobbing subsided, Jodha broke the hug, finally meeting his eyes and said "You don't have to wait that long, I... I love you Jalal. "She had wanted to say much more but decided that telling him her feelings were the most important.

He took her by surprise when he kissed her on the lips. She stood still just a quick second before responding to the kiss.

As the kiss started to take a passionate turn, Jodha tries to break from it for fear that someone might walk up on them but Jalal wasn't willing to break it off as he chased after her and took her lips on his once more until they had to finally break free to catch a breath.

Jalal rested his forehead on hers waiting for their heart beat to turn normal. Jalal once again tell her he loves her to which she say she loves him too and even went as far as to peck Jalal on the lips. A sudden shyness creeps into Jodha as she realize that she initiated the kiss tries to run from Jalal but he caught her before she could go far.

With her back to his front, Jalal brought his lips to her ears and whispers something that makes her eyes welled up with unshed tears. Jodha turns around to look at him, too overwhelmed to speak, she could only nod her head before he embraced her in his arms.

Jodha looked a mess, her eyes had turned red with all the tears she had cried, her lips swollen from the kisses she shared with a certain someone, her lipstick smudged, her eyeliner and make up was ruined. She hurried to her room and found the room to be empty. She quickly washed out her face and fix her make up. This time around she decided to keep it light with a minimum amount of powder and used a coral coloured lipstick that Jalal loved instead of the dark pink her mother had forced her to put on earlier.

She blushed as she remembered what Jalal had whispered to her before finally letting go of her. She was still in daze on the fact that she confessed her feelings to Jalal. She couldn't have chosen a better time than earlier. Now that this was over, the only thing left was to inform both their families about their relationship. Rather her family since Jalal told his and they accepted her.

Once again she feared that her parents would not accept Jalal but she will not waver, she loved Jalal and she would try her level best to convince her parents that he is the one for her. As she did her final touch up, she went to find Sukanya to escort the latter to the shaadi mandap.

Many eyes were on the bride as she was being led to the mandap, there were three particular pairs of eyes that was on the bride's cousin, Jodha. Two of them were of Rekha's and Suraj's. They were happy to have finally gotten a glimpse of Jodha and they were excited to speak to her. They had already met Mainawati and Bharmal, now only their future daughter in law is left to be introduced to.

The other pair of eyes was Jalal's. Truly Jodha had looked so mesmerizing that he couldn't take his eyes off her. Only he knew how hard it was to let her go after hearing her say those words to him. He was not yet ready to part with her but he knew that the day she became his wasn't very far ahead. His parents' has already accepted Jodha and they adored her. They even told him that they had bought her gifts.

As Jodha assisted Sukanya to sit, she went and stood by Jalal's side where coincidentally her bhabhi was standing. The pandit started chanting the mantras, Sukanya and Raghav's face shone with so much happiness and love that Jodha could not help but hope that some day it would be her and Jalal who sat on the mandap.

Jodha felt a soft caress on the top of her hand that slowly went down until both her and Jalal's fingers were entwined. She looked up at him and saw him looking down at her with the same glow on Raghav and a smile that she had come to love so much.

When the time for pheras came, Jodha was overcome with emotions as she sees her little cousin sister binding herself to a man she loves for the rest of her life and resolved to let her own parents know about Jalal if she wants to be as happy as Sukanya is.

When it was time for Jalal and his parents to make a move, Jodha had gone out to send them off. Jodha again took blessing from Hamida and Humayun, the former hugging her and thanking her again for bringing their Jarar back. After sending them off, Jodha went back inside the house not knowing that there was another who had seen her with Jalal and his parents.

Precap - Suryabhan Meets Jodha

Sorry for being away and as I said in the note in pg 41, life was in a very busy and frustrating stage that I had to be away. Also I had wanted to post an OS in the OS thread but unfortunately the thread was closed or rather locked, not just that but also my SS and index thread so I can't post anything there until I find out if it's possible to open it up so for now I'll focus on getting chapters for HFL till I get any further notice on the other threads.
