Whatever I said was misinterpreted! - Sonam Kapoor on her statement on working with SRK

Sonam Kapoor recently was asked by a popular magazine, whether she would like to work with Shah Rukh Khan in the near future. To this, she said, "I don't think Shah Rukh Khan wants to work with me. There have been so many opportunities where I could have worked with him but he... I wanted to work with him and I reached out to him as well. But I never got the opportunity. I guess it'll happen whenever he feels like working with me."

Now, during an interaction with a popular daily, she was asked about the quote which she gave and she stated that she didn't say it like that. Sonam even went on to further say that the leading hero takes the call in the casting of the film and when Shraddha Kapoor was asked about the same, she refused it. Talking about it, the Neerja actor added, "I have known Shraddha since we were kids. She is my age and we have grown up together. So I think she is reacting to a statement that has been misquoted."

Moreover, when the popular daily asked her the truth behind her statement, she replied, "Somebody asked me if I would like to work with SRK, and I said, 'Of course, I would love to work with him when he wants to.' I have just not had the opportunity. He is in a unique position, where he takes the calls (about the female leads he wants to work with)."

She further stated, "Yes, a lot of calls are taken by directors and I only work with those directors who take that call. So, all I said was that I will work with him when he wants to, and whenever there is a role and an opportunity. But whatever I said was misinterpreted."

Sonam went on to say that she had a talk with SRK regarding her statement. "Even Mr Khan called me up and asked if the statement was true. And I said, 'No, it's not. I didn't say it like that. You have known me for many years and it is not what it is.' Since film-making is a collaborative effort, I will work with him when the director, actor, the rest of the cast and everyone else is in consensus about working with me. Till now, I have not had that chance. That's all I said," she concluded.

I am starting to like sonam. She's part of my favorites now. She is misunderstood. She wants to work with srk😊 SRK is the KING, and who doesn't want to work with a top actor who gives importance and respect to his lead females

I didn't know Shraddha was 31 years old. Thought she was same age as Kriti or Parineeti😕

That is some serious damage control.😲 Everyone knows what Sonam meant when she made that statement. It was clear as crystal..I think she's scared after SRK reached out to her confronting her on her nonsensical statement

Why is she trying to retract her statement now? Especially when she said nothing that was so wrong. Sonam, if you are going to say something about along the lines of hero has a hand in picking the heroine, then don't back out just because of pressure, especially when it is the truth. 😆

So that superstar calling the actress Blind was true😆

Sonam should know that SRK and Anil do not like each other. Anil used to look down upon SRK when he started doing adverts. AK even told SRK that ts not classy for actors to do adverts.

Why did Sonam detract her statement? Its true that heroes have a hand in selecting actresses. Stick to your guns. SRK won't work with you Sonam, so you have nothing to loose.

Sonam said it like it is. She has no need to retract her statement.

It's the Absolute truth about heroes choosing their heroines unless it's an Imtiaz Ali or Kabir who hv a vision about their film and won't compromise.

SRK Has Been KNOWN to and HAS EVEN ADMITTEDLY that he refused certain films with certain heroines in the past.

I can understand Sonams team doing damage control but what she said earlier is spot on.
