Wo jo hum mein tum mein qarar tha tumhen yaad ho ke na yaad ho
wohi yani wada nibah ka tumhen yaad ho ke na yaad ho
wo naye gile wo shikayaten wo maze maze ke hikayaten
wo har ek baat pe ruthana tumhen yaad ho ke na yaad ho
koi baat aisi agar hui jo tumhare jee ko buri lagi
to bayan se pahale hi bhulana tumhen yaad ho ke na yaad ho
suno zikr hai kai saal ka, koi wada mujh se tha aap ka
wo nibahane ka to zikr kya, tumhen yaad ho ke na yaad ho
kabhi hum mein tum mein bhi chah thi, kabhi hum se tum se bhi reh thi
kabhi hum bhi tum bhi the aashna, tumhen yaad ho ke na yaad ho
hue ittefaq se gar baham, wo wafa jatane ko dam-ba-dam
gila-e-malamat-e-arqaba, tumhen yaad ho ke na yaad ho
wo jo lutf mujh pe the beshtar, wo karam ke hath mere hath par
jise aap ginte the aashna jise aap kahate the bavafa
main wohi hun "momin"-e-mubtala tumhen yaad ho ke na yaad ho
Poet of the Poem / Ghazal or Nazam : Momin Khan Momin.
There are many ways to express pain some do it openly others like Swara conceal their pain. Since childhood Swara had learned to mask her true feelings. She was skilled at appearing fine even when she was breaking inside. As a child on some days she missed her father terribly but she never once shared her pain with her mother. Now people were accusing her for not emoting after her separation from him. How could they think she was happy to be away from him? She had immersed herself in work to divert her mind but the truth was the pain of leaving him would creep in at some moments overwhelming her. She cried when Sujata accused her for giving Sanskar pain but she quickly wiped away her tears afterwards. She was trying to be strong but every strong person has a breaking point. She just couldn't control her tears anymore after throwing Sansakr out of the house she closed the door. Every word of his had pierced her heart. She was surprised to see that he was drunk but he taunted her
"Aik sharab hi toh hain jo dhoka nahi deti or saath nahi chodti"
This was the same guy who used to hate the smell of alcohol. What had she done to him? He was trying to bury his pain in copious amounts of alcohol. His hurtful words didn't stop here. He told her he had no problem if she got married to her childhood bestie Nikihil. He was willing to prepare for her wedding.
"Humray risthay ki parwa na tumhay tab thi aur na ajj hain"
The whole idea of marrying someone else was preposterous. Didn't he know that she was in love with him? How could he fathom that she could marry someone else? She had enough of his nonsense so she kicked him out. Solitude welcomed her again. The tears refused to stop. Pain was at its peak. Why does love hurt so much? She couldn't even recognise Sansakr sometimes he had changed so much in the past six months. She had changed him yet again. If only on that fateful day she had stayed when he asked her too she wouldn't be here right now. Maybe this was her punishment for shattering his heart. Ironic isn't it that the same person who gave her pain was the cure for all her pain as well. She wished she could just embrace him and surround herself in his woodsy scent and never let go. She hated the fact that she couldn't hate him at all.
"So it's true, when all is said and done, grief is the price we pay for love."
