Private television entertainment channel Star Plus rejected charges of manipulation levelled on it by starlet Rakhi Sawant and dismissed it as her publicity stunt. "We really don't know why Rakhi is going hammer and tongs against us. She has not yet established any direct contact with us. She has only been speaking to the media. Hence, we believe that it is a publicity stunt," General Manager, Star Plus, Ketan Adyanath said. Runners-up in the recently-held television reality dance show Nach Baliye, Sawant has sought a probe into 'manipulation' of votes cast through SMSes which she says led to her defeat in the show aired on Star Plus. "For us, the show was over on Saturday night. But it seems she wants to continue the show for gaining more publicity. It is a known fact that these artists make a lot of money through public performances. So more the publicity, better it is for them," Adyanath said.

"Till the time she was in the race, she had no problems when other couples lost. As soon as she lost in the final round, she alleged manipulation against us," he said.

On the allegation of a faulty audience poll system, Adyanath said every time only the losing contestants complain.

"They may feel their hard work got wasted. But it is not just hard work that counts. The audience too has to feel convinced with a contestant's performances," he said.

Rakhi should move on and stop defaming the show Nach Baliye.

Its a fantastic show and everything was done very fairly.

The show has already ended and Rakhi should just move on and not embarrass herself any further.
