Since the wedding, Sona is getting yelled at all the time, Living the life of a second grade citizen in the Dixit house. Looks like Ishwari is never going to let her make any decisions in the future also. She can never follow her culture in that house ( like cooking fish ) . I am not blaming anyone here because that is the way they are and she knew that they were uneducated/ uncultured people before she got married to Dev. I am just thinking that had she not fallen in love with Dev, she would have felt happier as being Ritwik's wife. (Or Kushal Roy's wife !) I am just looking at the compatibilty here !
ps : chappal mat marna behno ! I am just so sad to see the constant negative things post wedding!

Sona - Ritwik jodi was paper perfect. But if she hadn't fallen in love with Dev we as viewers wouldn't have been this pulled and crazy about the show.😉 No one is born a good husband and wife but you learn to be good partners with time with patience, understanding, respect and love.

Actually yes, if it was a real life scenario, arranged marriage types! But it is a daily soap and Devakshi are head over heels in love. Chemistry bhi koi cheez hai!
No one thinks practically in love! After all we get to see the different colours due to their differences. Sab same same to Maida majaa??? 😊😊😊

seriously main bhi yehi soch rahi thi...rithik would be a better husband...his sister and father are so supportive...after devdrunk drama also he still supported her...he didnt question her...
i really think rithwik would be a better choice when compared with dev...

and most importantly oo sona pe bewaja chilayega bhi nahi...remember when his land was gone...he just said sona main akela rehna chahtha huan...he is so sweet...he also stand up for sona infront of his dad...unlike dev dixit who cant stand up for even in front of his mami...bechari ko akela hi samalna hota hai...

and very important rithik ki mom nahi hai...so obviously no saas bahu drama

Every person including Sona has flaws and am sure Mr. R would have it too. But marrying Mr. R would have been better for her because she would be treated with lot of respect and also Mr. R is not like Dev. He would have stood up for Sona even in front of his family. He might not shout /argue / disrespect them but would have made it very clear of his stand .

Example :- When he tried to reason out with his family after Dev- Sona pic getting published in the paper. Even after breaking the engagement he was sad but he showed maturity of not making a scene. And now with such a health issue for Sona, I hate to say it but Mr.R would have been the best person for Sona than Khusal and Dev.

I have no idea how Dev will treat Sona during the infertility track. With out them knowing anything she gets daily dose of Taunts and scoldings from every one in the house and he acts as if everything is fine...Now imagine when they get to know abt this what would be her condition...do you think he will stand up for her??

Another point to note...it was his decision to have non - veg for wedding , and that night when the fuss happened he suddenly went quiet ...why o why ?? Why did he not speak at that point that it was his decision ...he was quiet all thru out...

So yes Mr.R and family would have been the best match for Sona if she hadnt fallen in love with Dev.
But what to do sometimes fate plays cruel games...and we just need to face it.

PS : I LOVE DEV AND SONA but considering what SONA IS GOING THRU ...I DONT THINK DEV IS BEING NICE TO HER. ITS ONLY BEEN FEW DAYS INTO MARRIAGE AND SHE IS FACING TOO MUCH HARDSHIP AS A BRIDE AT HIS HOUSE. MOST CASES PROBLEMS HAPPEN AFTER A MONTH OR TWO...HERE BECAUSE HE DOESNT SAY ANYTHING PPL ARE TAKING HIS WIFE FOR GRANTED AND TAUNTING HER...SAD!!

In the show, no. She loves Dev
In real life, actually no. She loves Dev and that is more important than anything else

Ritwick ticks all the boxes - middle class bengali doctor. Sona would be respected there. But, the spark isn't there. With Dev she loves him.. That's what matters

Really cannot comment on this hypothetical situation because Ritwick has not been put in Dev's situations and both are extremely different characters. May be yes culturally they wouldn't have faced any clashes. But i really don't know about other things. When newspaper fiasco happened, Ritwick was silent in front of his father, yes he did made him understand later but at the moment he was shushed by his dad. Even when sona went to take care of dev, his sister was angry and taunted sona (which was completely justified). I really doubt if Sona would not have listened taunts at his place. 😕

And from practical real life examples that i have seen in my family, i can say that person's choice and love is important. My cousins have rejected same culture, profession etc etc matches for arrange marriages and got married with their own choice. They say problems come everywhere, it depends on two persons on how they deal with them. Be it love or arrange marriage everyone has to face such situations. I am not trying to be filmy or romantic here, but ritwick would have been a good choice for sona if dev wouldn't have been in her life. She might have felt love and connection with ritwick, her prince charming.

Though sona was in love with dev she should have taken a long break and eventually married rithvik. Her judgement was clouded with this so called "love" . For how long will she live in this delusion. Nothing can change the kind of mama's boy dev is.. nd nothing can change his family,
Had she married rithik she wud have got respect trust and most importantly peace in her day to day life. Sooner or later she wud hv surely developed feelings for him. And also wenever she wud b blessed with kids they will b getting the best peaceful environment for their upbringing.

Living with a guy like dev nd his hypocrite family will not only start taking a toll on her but also gradually she herself will experience a personality change by putting up with so much negativity on daily basis.

@ BOLD ...and slowly the love that she shared with him and cherished will become a pain...in a realistic world the lady will start regretting the decision of marrying a man who cant even stand up for her honour / her needs in front of his family.
