yesterday we had diamond breaking scene..

my god.. one try .. and that diamond turned into pieces .. 😆

I don't think it is possible..!

anyone tried ..? 😲

Then again it might be fake diamond considering Maya's dad isn't exactly an honest person.

Did her mom mention it is a diamond?

Diamonds grow and Crystallize with Cleavage Lines. If struck at the Right Angle and the Right Amount of Impact, Diamonds can actually Separate. Almost like Putting a Wedge in a Tree. Once a Direct Blow is made, that Tree can Split all the way down the line. Cleavage Lines are the Diamonds Weak Spots. Diamonds are Cut and Shaped following these lines.

Other than that, Diamonds are VERY Durable. So Durable in fact, that the only way to Polish a Diamond is with another Diamond! Diamond Dust is what does the Polishing Job

They actually showed it to 100% accuracy.

Because,

If one wants to "break" or split diamond into 2 pieces, or few pieces, it is possible with a harder diamond, hitting along the cleaved line.

But hitting it with a hammer, along/exactly over the bond cleavage line and with the right force, it shatters completely into innumerable pieces- it shatters, which was exactly shown in the scene. :)
