Something Wonderful
The tempestuous marriage of Alexandra Lawrence, an innocent country girl, and Jordan Townsende, the rich and powerful Duke of Hawthorne, is about to face its ultimate test of tender loyalty. Swept into the endlessly fascinating world of London society, free-spirited Alexandra becomes ensnared in a tangled web of jealousy and revenge, stormy pride and overwhelming passion. But behind her husband's cold, arrogant mask, there lives a tender, vital, sensual man...the man Alexandra married. Now, she will fight for his very life...and the rapturous bond they alone can share. This book is sooo gud. Other than this u can read Whitney, My Love, then, A Kingdom of dreams, Almost Heaven, Once and Always. These r some I think u shud read, Bt first of all try Something Wonderful. :)
Sure

Fabulous! Just my kind of thread 😃
Absolutely agree with what you said about the warm feeling of old school romances, but for me added to that it is also the sense of adventure, intrigue, and mystery as well that we find in many of these books apart from the romance. The very fact that a lot of what we take for granted today like freedom, technology, education etc was virtually non-existent back then and the struggles of the people through those limitations and restrictions of those eras make us really admire the bold and spirited characters in these books. My favorites in this genre are Lisa Kleypas, Mary Balogh, Amanda Quick and Johanna Lindsay, though I have a huge collection by Julie Garwood, Judith McNaught, Julia Quinn, Eloisa James, Sabrina Jefferies etc I still have to dig into 😊.Thanks once again for opening this thread!
