Chapter-11

Raat Akeli Hai

Suku and Ayesha leave for the hotel. Nisha and Kabir are waiting for a taxi. It was already late. They decided to start walking as it was not safe for Nisha to wait there. The restaurant was beside a sea shore. They started walking from the side of the shore. They were not talking since long. They actually did not know how to talk to someone they hate so much or not. it was not actually hatred. It was that they were totally different.

Kabir got a call from his father. The ringtone was PUNGI from the movie AGENT VINOD. Nisha laughed a bit thinking whose phone it might be. Kabir took out the phone from his pocket. Kabir knew who it was as he had set it for his father specifically. Kabir talked but did not mention that they were walking on the road waiting for a taxi to come. He hanged the call. The battery of Nisha's phone was dead.

Ni- You did not tell your father that we need a car or some other vehicle because we are stuck?

Ka- No!

Ni- (annoyed) My phone's battery is dead but it seems your brain is dead. Your phone is working properly but still you do not have enough brain to call a cab?

Ka- (annoyed) Oh miss! I have brains. I know that I could have called the cab but the thing is... (looks down embarrassment) But I do not have internet pack. It was over yesterday night.

Nisha started laughing as he finished.

Ka- (complaining like a small kid) I knew you would laugh. That is why I was hesitant to tell to you the truth.

Ni- (Tries to stop laughing) But what could I do? (laughs again) but the way you complained, you looked really cute. (she did not realize what she said)

Ka- (surprised) What did you just say?

It was now that Nisha realized she called him cute.

Ni- I am sorry. I didn't mean that. (again starts laughing) but I can't deny the truth. You look like a five year old boy who hasn't got his chocolate.

Ka- (Sarcastically) Ha! Ha! Ha! Very funny!

Ni- Okay I am sorry. (suppresses her laughter) give me your phone.

Ka- What? Why?

Ni- (mockingly) I am not going to call your girlfriend and tell him that you are with me.

Ka- (annoyed) You really have a bad sense of humor. (he handed over his phone to her)

Ni- (tries to open it) It's password locked. Enter the password.

Kabir told her the password. Nisha felt it weird and as she was Nisha she asked him the question before she would open his phone.

Ni- (confused) How could you give your password to someone you hate so much?

Ka- (in a cool manner) I can tell who is trustworthy and who is not. Moreover my brother trusts you. He never trusts anyone easily. He has a very good sense of judging people.

Ni- How do you know that jiju trusts me?

Ka- He doesn't talk or talks less to those he does not trust and he talked to you. Rather he took your side. He was happy talking to you. This proves that he trusts you. And I trust only some people just like him but the number is more in my list. Even if I trust some wrong person ever my brother tells me that he or she is not trustworthy and I trust him the most in my life.

Ni- But what if some day, he is wrong and told you the wrong thing? What will you do? Will you trust him?

Ka- In the beginning I will. But if in any way a person a trust like him like my mother, dad, Kirti bhabhi say that he is wrong then I would just have to ask him. He would never lie to me. I am pretty much sure about it.

Nisha smiled. She started searching a name in the contact list but did not find it.

Ni- (confused) What name is your father's number saved with? I tried Papa, Dad, Paa, Father. I could not find it.

Ka- (without realizing) Jallad baap!

Ni- (laughing) What? You have saved your father's number with the name JALLAD BAAP?

Ka- You laugh on every single thing or what! And about the caller ID, it fits his personality. He is always after me and scolds me.

Nisha stopped laughing realizing that he was getting serious.

Ni- (consoling tone) Kabir, are you okay?

Ka- Are you mad? Not in that way. I mean to say he scolds me and I take the help of Maa and get him some scoldings. We are the fighting father-son dup but the thing is he (with love filled voice) loves me very much. He is the best dad ever! I love him too but I cannot love him the way he does. He would fight with me, shout at me, I would say something to him but at the end of the say it would be that we are laughing together. If for one day I do not talk, he would ask if I am alright. If one day he does not scold me, I would be like are you in your senses. We love each other. We share an unbreakable bond like thing. If I believe in a bit of love then that is because of him.

Nisha smiled. Kabir realized that he was saying all this to Nisha.

Ka- (seriously) But I realized something.

Nisha looked at him.

Ka- That you are even worse than my dad. (starts laughing)

Ni- (irritated) You are the worst. No comparison! (Starts walking)

Ka- (walks after her) Well I know love, that there is no comparison for me but not in that sense please. (giggles seeing her getting irritated)

Ni- (stops and looks at him angrily) Don't you dare call me LOVE! I dare you to flirt with me!

Ka- Who would want to get killed?

Ni- I can tell that. Now call your dad and ask him for a car so that we can walk off. I can't bear for a second more. It is more painful than walking on burning coal.

Kabir called this JALLAD BAAP and asked him to send a car.

Ka- Dad said that he would send a car as it is near this place but still it would take 15 minutes.

Ni- NO!!!!

Ka- (sarcastically) As if I like it!

Ni- What are we going to do for this long?

Ka- let us discuss about the works that we are going to do together.

Ni- Okay!

Ka-first let us see about catering.

They started discussing about the jobs they have to do obviously with loads many fights. After the discussions got completed also the driver didn't come with the car.

Ni- It's late. I think you should call your dad and ask him about the whereabouts of the car.

Ka- Hmmm...( Kabir called his dad) What!!! No dad!!! Please try to find some idea. Please dad. Okay! (hanged the call)

Ni- What is the matter?

Ka- The car of the tire got punctured. It would take half an hour to reach here.

Ni- What??? No!!!

Ka- you make a call to your family and ask whether they can send someone soon.

Nisha called Kirti.

Ki- Where are you? It has been an hour since we left.

Ni- Don't worry Kirti! (looks at Kabir) Your stupid devar is with me. but please send a car. I cannot tolerate him for long.

Ki- I want to talk to Kabir.

Ni- What? Am I talking French? (Nisha understood Kirti's wrath. She gave the phone to Kabir)

Ka- Haan honewali bhabhi!

Ki- Kabir tum log theek toh ho na. don't worry I will send Suku right now.

Ka- Bhabhi we are all right. And please send him soon. (he hanged the call)

Ni- From my house it would take 40 minutes. We should stop walking now so that we are able to work tomorrow.

They sat on a nearby bench. They were staring at the sea. They both could not keep quiet.

Ni- Any girlfriends?

Ka- Nah! Yours?

Ni- I am straight. I do not have any attraction towards girls.

Ka- Well, the way you act gives me a feeling that you aren't straight but now that you have clarified, any boyfriends?

Ni- (angry) No!!

Ka- Good!

Ni- Why so? So that you can flirt with me?

Ka- No! Not at all! Only some idiot would flirt with you. I was asking so that I do not have to pity anyone because the person being with you in a relationship needs my sympathy. (sympathetic look)

Ka- Take to Nisha's house!

Ni- (Simultaneously) Take to Kabir's house.

Ni- What do you want?

Ka- Let him take to your house first.

Ka- I am telling this for a reason. (To the driver) Take to Nisha's house.

Ni- And what would that be?

Ka- I will tell it tomorrow.

Ni- I want to know it now.

Kabir took Nisha out of the car to some distance from the car.

Ka- Because you should not trust the drivers. It is late night and not safe. If I am with you, he won't do anything wrong.

Kabir smiled instead of smirking. Nisha was looking outside the window but after 10 minutes she also smiled looking outside hiding it from Kabir but Kabir could see it and he smiled again.

They reached Nisha's home. Nisha went even without looking at him. Kabir smiled again at her attitude.
