@Vandita..
No doubt there were cute moments like the varmala. I loved that scene too. No denying that. But editing sucked and there is no denying that either. Here are my reasons.

1. I do not expect cute lovey dovey moments between DevAkshi during the wedding. In reality the couple getting married hardly get that chance. But a small eye-lock during the jaymala or at least just before he puts the sindoor. Hell, even amidst 900+ guests, my the then fiance, now husband, took the time to grin at me. It lasted a couple of seconds but after 15 years, I still remember that. It's little things like that, that make a difference. You don't need dialogues or long drawn out scenes. I reserve them for when I am watching Suraj Bharjatya movies and don't expect them here.

2. Food fight, cultural differences, all were required. It is what happens during a wedding. But I felt... where was the wedding?? I quite literally blinked and missed the mangalsutra scene. Arre yaar mantra padne mein time toh lagta hain na. It is not a task / deed that you just rush through.

3. There had been all those dialogues during kanyadaan. I am not complaining or cribbing about them. They were probably needed too because a father's emotions came across very clearly. But one small gesture from Dev to Bijoy or Sona.. a look of reassurance / hand holding ... again it would last only a moment or two but that would have made a huge difference.

4. As you mentioned, I didn't expect Dev to stand like a statue with a puppy look on his face during bidai. He could have had a dialogue or two there.

5. The ring in the milk. Such a cute scene. But amidst the fish and RR it got lost.

All good scenes had been blink and miss. All the conflicted ones were highlighted. Bottom line - We were invited for the wedding. Not to watch the cultural tug of war. And it wasn't the script or the acting or the screenplay or even the story. It was the editing. Don't they watch before telecast? Can't they judge how the end product looks like??

And please don't worry about long post. Mine would have been longer this morning if I hadn't been in a rush but looks like I've made it up now. 😆

Please don't misunderstand me. I am really glad that you enjoyed the episode. I enjoyed too but the essence of the wedding was overlapped by the drama is what I felt.

very good post. and all the replies are at the point. shaheer told many times that picturisation was very good, pyar se shoot kiya hai. but poor guys they had tried their level best. but EDITORS ne uske mehnath pe pani pheka. why the CVsare not changing the editors. It is your turn now, shaheer and erica, raise your opinion about it. you must stand against it. you people are doing a good job for the happiness of fans. Now there is no hope for intimate scenes from this editors. Please show olvs, we are happy with them . thanks for all sites for their olvs. we are looking forward for such good olvs.

1. When OLVs start looking like episodes and episodes start resembling spoilers, it is time for the makers to hit a pause button and reevaluate the editing.

2. Shot well, executed well, acted well. But packaged poorly. 85% drama, 15% wedding.

Exactly.
I am glad you tweeted it. I am not on twitter otherwise would have surely done the same.

@Suvika...I do get ur disappointment and also that they majorly screwed up in many important areas...i can't disagree with any of the points uv stated...dey all stand correct... there was much more they could have done to make the episode better...but despite all this the better part of the show stayed with me more and as much as i would hv made a face during all the non-sense they showed...the big smile i had during the devakshi scenes more than made up for it...i know i cld hv gotten many more such scenes and they were there with the makers...they had shot them...and the editing spoiled it all...but is baar jitna mila mae utne me khush ho gae...hehehe ...its a rare thing for me though...

I am not going to analyse last night's episode. For me, there is nothing TO analyse.

All of us have seen the OLV of the wedding. The scale in which it had been shot had been phenomenal. The dim yellow / orange lighting made it seem all the more real.

Barring a few bloopers where the culture and rituals are concerned, the execution was close to perfect. I will put them down to the makers need for drama / melodrama. Not uncommon in Indian TV shows. So my expectations had been set low since the beginning.

Actors were on par excellence. Every single one of them. The makers of KRPKAB are extremely lucky to have the best team of actors who have the ability to make the viewers forget that they are watching a fiction show.

Yet, the episode was a let down. At least for me. Why? One reason and one reason ONLY. EDITING. You blink and you miss the mangalsutra scene. I mean...come on!! Who the hell does that? And you know what? I actually did miss it and was left wondering why they skipped it, until I saw the pics posted in the forum. We are not asking for a fortnight long or a week long wedding. I don't have the patience to watch anyway. But I don't want a marathon run either.

The wedding that was shot beautifully, executed perfectly and acted brilliantly, the editing messed up badly.
It's weekend and I am practically running on the clock so I will sum up my thoughts in two sentences.

1. When OLVs start looking like episodes and episodes start resembling spoilers, it is time for the makers to hit a pause button and reevaluate the editing.

2. Shot well, executed well, acted well. But packaged poorly. 85% drama, 15% wedding.

I have tweeted the same to the whole team. If you can retweet, nothing like it. Not sure how to post the link here but my twitter handle is @suvikast.

Happy weekend.

Love,
Suvika.

@ BOLD ...SPOT ON SUVIKA...you just summed it up so beautifully !!

This has become a trend of this serial to avoid leads except ishu ma. It was a big day for dev sona but rather than giving them proper screen space cvs were more intrested in showing dadi bua

Hi, Suvi

The tag line of the wedding ME, Sab he razi par azan Nahi hogi Dev Sona ki shadi prepared me for this drama filled wedding episode. Editors are so hungry that they eat only Devakshi scenes. I think he is cutting those scenes to enjoy himself later on. Otherwise I can't understand this need to chop of their scenes. He must be the biggest Devakshi fan. The 15 % they showed was the highlight for me. And thankfully some brainiac have already supplied us with enough OLV coverages. What I am not willing to take is the possibility that Sony might pull the plug even after all this drama without showing their promised journey.

The twitter is full of admirers with so many oohs and aahs for the episode and ours are lonely voices. Sometimes I do wonder if all are watching the same show. But to each his own I think. 😆 My expectations have reached the rock bottom. So from here onwards only highs for me.
