A common theme on the forums off late has been : a woman's self-respect. As a woman, I value this idea, but I also feel like, on Indian TV, we confuse self-esteem of woman as having something to do with who they should fall in love with and how. In refrence to my quote above, I feel like even if Anika falls for the Shivaay, she IS STILL respecting herself. Why ? Because she is choosing to go after something that SHE knows could bring her a lifetime of joy. SHE can see and feel the bond they share or could possibly share. SHe can sense that they're soulmates, SHE has seen his soft side, he has given her soul-piercing stares that only she could feel. She DOES have her self-esteem intact and SHE feels like she deserves the kind of love that her and Shivay can share in the future. If she didn't have self esteem, she would not even entertain the thought of continuing to have a bond with a family who are from a different class than her.
Now coming to how he treats her and what he said about her yesterday. Honestly,how many "perfect" relationships do we see these days ? How many couples say the right things at the right time to each other ? Probably none. That doesn't change the fact that they may bring out the best in each other or be life partners.
Yes, he's rude, but when a man works hard to achieve a certain level of success, he feels like he deserves certain things, and he never though that Anika would fit into his life. So, even though his words are bitter and rude, he is being practical enough to state that he thought he deserved a certain life partner ( successful, rich, elite), but like they say, "don't mix business with pleasure". He has yet to understand that his pleasure is Anika, and it is okay if she has nothing to do with his career goals or the ideal life that he imagined. But, one cannot deny that he loves her, it IS love from his side, already. You don't hold a nobody's hand so many times and refuse to let go until they remind you to let go 😊 He depends on her ( mera kya hoga), fears losing her ( yeh aakhri din kya laga rakha hai), senses her presence, finds her adorable ( party scenes), subconsciously wants her to share a comfort level with him ( Call me Shivaay), feels responsible for her ( main drop kar dunga when Om offers to drop her). We only do these things for/with that special someone in our lives, and she is already special to him, more special than his ex-gf or current gf.She is a woman sho holds significance in his life.
Secondly, I read that Surbhi clarified how Anika is not yet in love. This is where I would beg to differ. Nothing against her, but if this is what the CVs are trying to portray, then they are doing a VERY poor job at it.
If Anika didn't love Shivaay yet, she wouldn't :
1) Choose the words " My life started revolving around you" when telling Shivaay how she feels. They don't share a friendship for her to say that just out of respect. Secondly, if it was just sadness due to a change of daily routine, she would NOT attach emotions to a single person : Shivaay!
2) Tear up when Sahil asked her if she would meet Shivaay after the wedding. If the sadness was only due to a change of daily routine, then she would say " yeah sure, this way I will get to be in touch with all of them, I will keep visiting with all of them." The fact is she cannot bear to come back to a Shivaay who is someone else's husband.
3) She would not ask Shivaay to re-think his decision just so she could spend more time with the family. She genuinely wanted him to cancel the wedding altogether.
After dropping so many hints at the initial stages of their love, it disappoints me to hear that they are NOT in love, I don't know what else it is. Not just attraction for sure, there are sentiments attached here. Not friendship, they never started their love with friendship, it was always a clash of thoughts and ideals. It has to be love, folks, it comes in all shapes and sizes and this is one flavor of it. 😊
