There's something
That you have of me:
The memory of a night,
Trapped in the fading words
of letters soaked in rain
In autumn, I heard the rustle of leaves
Being crushed to nothing
Under my feet,
And hands.

The rustle is no more
But somewhere,
An ailing branch trembles for liberation.
On a rainy night,
You and I
Were drenched under the umbrella
A little less
And a little more.
A part of me
Of that night
Still hovers over your bedside

The many moonlit nights from your terrace
The fragrance
Of the still-wet heena
On the day of my marriage
That never took place
The regret
That never was
The promise
That was never made
Will you walk me
All over again
Through everything?
So in peace we sleep.

Since we have a lot of people here who appreciate good music, I thought I'd post a favourite of mine. 😊 Asha Bhosle was magical in this song! RD Burman did an exquisite job of composing the melody. Gulzar was exceptional as always penning the lyrics. 😊 Something about this song reaches out to my soul in the most euphonious manner. 😳 I hope you guys enjoy this song as much as I do. ❤️

Oh yes.. This song.. If anyone asks me my most fav song in female voice then it's obviously "mera kuch samaan" which rules my heart along with "bahon mein chale aao"..
There is something in the song, may be in panchamda's music or in gulzar's lyrics or in asha ji's voice which just attaracts me like a magnet...

I love this song daz, just as much as you do.. Just cant say how much... Its magical.. its wonderful.. Its a masterpiece, i must say..

Thanks for sharing.. i wish everyone will start loving it from today, whoever did not hear it before..

This is one song which I love to listen to time and time again and never get tired...it has that captivating quality! It's like a beautiful poem set to tune and the mellifluous rendition of this soulful number in the enchanting voice of Asha is absolutely blissful...mesmerizing!
It's has a sensual effect too with the mixture of yearning for memories which gives it a magical impact. The entire song is like a piece of art created by the genius of R.D. and Gulzar.
I've watched Ijaazat several times apart from the brilliant acting of Naseer,Rekha and Anuradha Patel I'm pulled by the beautiful music and songs ...I love Katra Katra and Choti Si Kahani Se too .
Thanks dear for enchanting me once more with this beautiful song .

Hey Dazz,
Thank you dear for sharing this melody. It's my first time listening...
Yes, a soulful one as you say & with this trio...Gulzar, RD Burman & Asha...
Can one expect any less of a melody than this?
Once again you took me down memory lane of some great music in Hindi cinema
from the 70s & 80s, evergreen & melodious...
& with Naseer, I'm sure the movie must have been a good one too.

Appreciate your efforts

my dear. first listen to this song but her voice as if I was listening earlier. I do not know that this singer has a voice but so calming and so sensible that I enjoyed without reading the translation and then I read a translation of a beautiful song. Thank you for sharing this with us. You really have taste.

Hey Mag,
After reading your comment, I have to watch this movie...
Hope I can find it online.
So much to catch up on & so very less time...LOL

Btw, how far into LS are you??
I have progressed a little & I think I am liking Dev's character a little more & Bhatti's comic side
Is too good.

@Sudha
Do watch the movie dear. It's really worth watching. Actually the story is a love triangle of sorts but what makes it different is the unusual treatment of it plus the sensitive portrayal of the three protagonists by the actors .I'm sure it's available online.
As for LS,Ive been a bit tied up of late so not much progress there...Hopefully soon I'll be able to catch up with it soon!😊
Yeah ,Dev's character is a complex one ... does not seem at first but slowly as the story advances we get to see the various shades and like you and everyone else I too find Bhatti's brand of comedy adorable as well as cheeky!

@mag.. Yup i have also watched the movie.. And as you said the three protagonists were great along with a worth watching story.. Inspite of having a love triangle, the movie succeeded in touching many souls.. A man stuck between his wife and love intetest.. Neither of the ladies was a vamp and i had actually liked it..

Yes sudha di.. You should give this movie a try.. I am sure you will definitely love it.
