Thanks a ton Arsalđ...yeah I am skipping the spoilers just reading the technical bits.
Looking forward to seeing Live by Night and Silence too.
On Chazelle, the man is a genius. Whiplash alone sealed the deal for me and then the trailer for La La Land just reaffirmed my faith in him.
Btw did you check out Lion by any chance, it looks quite interesting too.
P.S. There is this really intriguing indie sci fi flick called Coherence...I think you might like it.
Didn't get to see Lion. A friend saw it though and he didn't like it.
Do look out for Manchester by the Sea, Arrival and Moonlight and Nocturnal Animals. They are brilliant and the best amongst the ones I have seen of the last week. LaLa Land is in there as well.
Voyage of Time is good as well, the visuals are just stunning. This should be seen for the beautiful imagery if not anything else, Malick at his best. I saw the Cate Blanchett version which is rather lengthy, could have been edited down imo.
Magnificent Seven is no good though. I fail to see why it was made again. It was all over the place. If you are massive fan of westerns, maybe you will be a better time that I did.
Also, didn't get the fuss about The Birth of a Nation. It is an okay movie, nowhere near what it was hyped to be.
Edit: I will check out Coherence. Thanks for the recommendation.
