The actress has already started preparing for her next...
We had told you first that Katrina Kaif would reunite with Salman Khan for Ek Tha Tigers sequel - Tiger Zinda Hai. While there was no official confirmation, our source mentioned how her character was important for the sequel and she would definitely come on board for the film. The insider had also revealed how Katrina was wanting to work with Salman once again and how Kat-Ali's (director Ali Abbas Zafar) friendship meant that she would definitely be a part of Tiger Zinda Hai. And finally, two days ago, Katrina finally revealed that she is a part of Tiger Zinda Hai by posting the teaser poster of the film on her Facebook page. And now again, we have more details about her role and her preparations for the film...
Tiger Zinda Hai will take ahead the story of India's RAW agent Tiger (Salman Khan) and Pakistani spy Zoya (Katrina Kaif). As a source reveals, "While in ETT, Katrina was just seen as a lovely prop, in the action-drama TZH you will get to see the actress doing a lot of action for the first time. Katrina has never done hard-core, high-octane action before in any of her films, like hand-to-hand-combat or flying into the air, so she will have to undergo training for it. This time Katrina is working on having a lithe, flexible body so she can perform the action well and has already started working out to get that body under the expert eye of Yasmin Karachiwala."

Excitment on TZA!!
Another 464 days to go for Salman Khan's Tiger Zinda Hai. Yep we are that excited for the sequel of Ek Tha Tiger. The official announcement of the film was made today on social media platforms by YRF and Katrina Kaif. Ali Abbas Zafar, Sultan fame, replaces Kabir Khan in the director's chair for this one. Fans are going crazy over the announcement. Our social media newsfeed is filled with ecstatic messages for Tiger Zinda Hai and team.
Ek Tha Tiger narrated the story of two star crossed lovers. Salman, played Tiger- a RAW spy, and Katrina played Zoya- an ISI agent. They meet, and before realising each other's true identity, they fall in love for each other. The choose their love over loyalty with their agencies and hell breaks lose. The havoc that is caused by them to survive, while ISI and RAW tries to hunt them down, is thrilling. In the end, the love birds manage to fly away, literally, but the end credits show that they are still being tracked by spy agencies. So of course story has so much more left to say!

And we are every bit excited to know the rest. Here are the top 5 reasons that have got us jumping up and down for Tiger Zinda Hai
Salman and Katrina reunite
Well! OBVIOUSLY! The biggest USP of the first film was the gorgeous looking jodi of the two actors. The two of them have dated in the past, and have remained friends even after breaking up. People have seen them on screen together earlier in Partner, a song in Bodyguard, Yuvraaj, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, a scene in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. This was certainly not enough for die hard fans of them. That's not enough for die hard fans of the jodi. So this reuniting and that too in a popular and known territory is certainly a selling point for us.
Salman in action!
Ek Tha Tiger had some top notch action sequences. They were not just merely fighting off goons and knocking off them with punches, but full fledged action scenes with chase sequences, things exploding, jumping off buildings and what not. Salman even stops a tram train from meeting with an accident by using his jacket. Or the climax where he chases a plane that Katrina is flying and manages to catch in the nick of time. COOL! So for sure Tiger Zinda Hai will also be full of kickass action.
Katrina in action!
Well, it was not just the hero of the film that was making baddies beat the dust, we see the heroine throw some mean kicks and punches in the film as well. She plays a spy in the film. Not everyday we see a woman go all Lara Croft in Indian cinema. Seeing Katrina switch on her action avatar is certainly something to look forward to.
Mashaallah! Mashallah what music!
We can still groove to the tunes of the hit song Mashallah from ETT. Certainly music of this film is going to be rocking as well. The music charts are going to be topped by the tracks of this film. And Salman and Kat's sizzling chemistry in the music videos, well internet is breaking for sure.
Exotic locations!
We know Zoya (Katrina) and Tiger (Salman) are on a run. They cannot stay at one place for a long time. So definitely a lot of exotic locations are in store for us. Free world tour. Yayy!

Katrina Kaif talks about life lessons learnt from her Tiger Zinda Hai co-star, who she reunites with chaar saal baad, the film itself and more...
Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan reunite for their first sequel together (and her first as well) with Tiger Zinda Hai, which releases next Christmas. It is also the first time in four years that they're doing a film together. Moreover, it reunites Katrina with her dear friend' director Ali Abbas Zafar. Here, she tells us all we want to know about the film and how she will prep for it. Excerpts...
You have signed Tiger Zinda Hai.
Yes, that is happening and now, I can talk about it (smiles).
When did Ali brief you about the idea?
Not that long ago. Maybe, a few weeks ago. Ali is a dear friend, he's somebody who's really important in my life. So when he told me that he's written a sequel to Ek Tha Tiger, I was very surprised because I didn't know. It's already pretty much complete. Something like this came as an inspiration to him and of course, there are apprehensions about whether it would match up to the characters of Zoya and Tiger in terms of scope and characterisation. That was the first thing he said. But he had found a way to take this forward, which is extremely exciting.
Was it an instant yes?
He didn't ask me about the film. He had just told me the story. He is very quiet and private, so you never know when Ali is working on something. He would disappear quietly and then it will all be there. So by the time he told me, it was ready and in place. I loved it.
This is your first sequel...
It is indeed my first sequel. But I always thought Ek Tha Tiger would have a sequel. The name itself asks for one. And thank God, it's happening.
When do you start shooting for TZH?
Sometime early next year. It releases next Christmas.
Are you training in any particular form of martial arts for the film?
It's too early to be talking about exactly what I'm doing in the film. Of course, there's something special coming everyone's way for sure. I start training two months beforehand. If you've loved the action in Ek Tha Tiger, this will blow you over for sure. I'll just say that much.
Your role in Tiger was a prominent one, even when compared to Salman's role. Same dynamics in TZH?
Definitely. And that's keeping with the story. Ali and Adi have always given me roles which are exciting and challenging.
In TZH, you team up again with Salman after four long years. How does it feel?
It is going to be great for Salman and me to work together in Tiger Zinda Hai. And I'm really happy we are coming back with this movie. The sequel is possibly the perfect film for both Salman and me to do together now. We were the most comfortable on the sets of ETT, as Tiger and Zoya. I think it worked well for us. It's going to be interesting to be back on sets together.
How has your relationship with him changed over the years?
As an actor, he reminds me to never get complacent while working. To a person who watches his films " the bigger and more successful he gets, the harder he's working and the better he's getting at acting.
Has the Katrina from ETT changed?
I think there have been huge changes in me and my life. The world around me has changed. Change is the only constant in my life.
Reportedly, Salman's character Tiger ages through the film?
That's entirely wrong. He does not age at all. The film is set in today's times. It's set in one time period. There's no aage-peeche at all.
Does it start where the first film ended?
Yes, it's a sequel in the correct sense of the term. It begins exactly from where we left off in ETT.
