Today's episode was all about Gamble and the destruction it leaves behind.

I was very upset with both Dev and Sona today... I hate to say this but for once, Ishwari said something right although it was her own damn fault. She said why did Dev asked for permission if he didn't intend to follow through her opinion?

The same can be said for Sonakshi. Why did she let Dev come to the engagement party, when she knows that she becomes weak in front of Dev and it will hurt all of them?

Dev and Ishwari have a strange relationship. The closest comparison I can find is Parasitic plants...

Parasitic plants clutch onto a solid tree and get their nutrients from the solid tree, but they are never a part of that tree.

Dev and Ishwari's relationship is kind of like a Parasitic plant. Ishwari fulfils her need of self-importance from Dev's blind devotion and Dev fulfils his need of companionship from her constant praise and flattery. But they are not part of each other like a family because there is no honesty or familiarity that could make them walk up to each other with any problem they might have without any hesitation. Instead they cling to the idea of family (the solid tree) without knowing what family is really all about.

But when Sona, the other solid tree walked into their lives, Dev let go of the prior ideas of a family and decided to cling to Sona instead. However, that took away the feeding that Ishwari was deriving from Dev to fulfil her self-importance. But instead of talking like a real family, she acted out.

That jarred Dev's previous foundation (the idea of family) and he reacted as Ishwari hoped he would. He again pulled back from Sona and clinged to the idea of the family. However, that idea had gone weak because he has tasted how a real foundation looks and feels like through Sona. So he kept getting weaker and weaker and the weaker he got, he reached out a little more to Sona to grab whatever he can touch even at the fringes of her life to sustain him until next time.

Sona on the other hand herself got weaker trying to feed Dev's issues. She tried to stand tall, but it's impossible to do so alone. So she took help from another solid tree, Ritwik, hoping he can provide her the nutrients to sustain until she is no longer weak.

Ritwik is happy to provide the nutrients but is not willing to cut off his roots to do so. Also, he knows that Sona doesn't need the nutrients he can provide. She needs to create her own nutrients. But since he liked her, he agreed or should I say he gambled.

Today we saw how that gambled paid off.

Moral of the Story: Never ever gamble on being someone's second choice because that never pays off. A second choice is always left to wonder if they would have been chosen if first choice existed. (Check new spoiler and remember this Moral. To be discussed later.)

I also blamed Dev today. So you wanted to see her one last time. Why didn't you then leave after you saw them? Why would you drink alcohol at her engagement party when last time you had alcohol, you destroyed your office then passed out?

When you drank alcohol at Sona's engagement instead of going elsewhere, you already broke your promise to do "nothing wrong".

He knew he can't move on. But his behaviour was a gamble to pull Sona to him one more time and it paid off.

I hadn't blamed Sona before when she decided to get married in haste. But I blamed Sona today.

As I mentioned in my previous post, she could have stopped Dev from coming to her engagement and send a video instead. But she didn't.

May be she was hoping that he will declare his love in spite of his mother's objection and stop her from getting married to someone else. But love made her blind to her family and Ritwik and his family's honour and happiness.

She took a big gamble subconsciously as well which paid off by breaking her engagement but at the cost of her parents' and Ritwik's family's humiliation. She should have taken Asha's suggestion to call off the engagement. It would have saved other the cost of her decision.

When Dev fell down, she could not stop herself to go to Dev. I understand that. But there was no need for her to drop him home. Her brother or Elena could drop Dev home.

But she did exactly what she had told Dev. If he reaches out to her, she won't care about anyone else and go with him. Very admirable behaviour as a lover, very selfish for everyone else in her life.

If her family gets insulted after that, only Sona will be responsible.

She forgot her family when her love came in front of her. Some people will praise her, the same way when they praised Dev when he sacrificed his love for his family because after all a good woman should always choose her life partner before her family and a good man should always choose his family before his life partner.

But in my book, when you cause dishonour and insult to one relationship at the cost of another, you don't deserve either of the relationship.

Today I felt very ashamed of both of them because both behaved selfishly for their love and neither thought about anyone else.

What Sona did to Ritwik is worse than what Dev did to Natasha. At least he broke up his relationship in private. But Sona humiliated Ritwik and his family including her own in public.

I defended her when people were saying that she was making wrong decision and I told everyone that whether right or wrong, it's her decision provided the other person knows everything and agrees.

At the very least, she should have asked Ritwik before inviting Dev. How would she feel if Dev invited Natasha to their engagement without asking her?

As much as the episode was entertaining, I felt utterly ashamed of these two lovers who destroyed other's happiness at the cost of their own issues...

Now let's talk about the new spoiler.

Remember the moral in bold written above?

Dev and Sona will both face the consequences of their action.

Dev will understand that if you decide to make one relationship your plan B subject to plan A, you lose trust of both.

And Sona will realise how it feels to know that should plan A existed with previous conditions, plan B would have never existed.

While I applauded her stand, but can't feel sorry for her having to swallow this bitter pill.

Like Dev, she can't say that she was not given choices to change her decision. But she refused to take them and hence should suffer the same fate as Dev.

The only regret I have is that between these three (Dev, Sona and Ishwari because she is the third wheel in this relationship), they hurt so many people in the process.

This is precisely the reason why they should have shown a mutual break-up or atleast an amicable one or atleast something which was not so harsh and dramatic..This is also the reason why they shouldn't have involved a third wheel..Cos till date, not one show on Indian Telly has managed to handle a track involving a third wheel gracefully..Correct me if am wrong but in almost every show i have watched so far, the leads have involved a third wheel just to prove a point to someone or just to show they have moved on or it is at best a rebound relationship..I really wish it wasn't like that..I really wish there were shows where they don't need a third wheel for realization or drama..It would have been so much easier to watch a headstrong Sonakshi who is focusing on her career and Dev realizing his mistakes and trying to win her back..What we got was a melodramatic mess and once a third wheel is involved, this is all they could do..Cos its an Indian drama, Dev-Sonakshi are the leads, its not a tragic love story and they are bound to get back together at some point..When all these things are constant, bringing in a third wheel was a bad idea to begin with..If that was not enough, they made Sona's family blind enough to believe she is happy (every single family is portrayed that way on TV..I dont know if am the only one who finds it weird cos am used to my parents being super perceptive when am upset even for a minute 😆)..But then after the way they ruined Ishwari (yeah i still have issues with that cos they ruined her complexity in the most brutal way possible), am not really surprised..Suffice to say this was expected..
P.S. I think the one bit i loved in the episode was the letter he wrote to Sonakshi..Great handwriting there 😆

Very nice post Tia... 👏

This is what i call "Constructive Criticism"

I loved the episode but i feel for Rithik's family... it was not their fault at all... May be Rithik should have been smart enough to judge the situation... but all along he has been playing Saint himself... So tough luck for him but i cant pity his condition (He chose it himself by taking the gamble).

But one thing i am glad is that --- This brings the story back to the beginnning... this time with a lot of lessons learnt by both Dev, Sona and Ishwari (i wish).. I would really like them to work it all out by themselves with out any external support or enlightenment

2 people in love only think of themselves and nothing more without realising that their love bond is temporary and can last a max of 2-3 yrs. After that its only the mutual respect, trust and the family bonds keep alive the love. 😆😆😆

Some relationships are messy, complicated. Esp. Where ppl dont take selfish decisions and break off ties with family cause they disagree. They do things for family, despite heart telling thwm otherwise. All my narazgi with storyline and some characters vanished today.. Cause the naked truth.. Dev and sonakshi's love is strong and they cant move on without the other.. No matter what they say or do!.. Is out in open for all to see. Both went against family, both couldnt control their feelings tdy 👏

I don't agree much..only in parts maybe.

My point of disagreement is with the subject of ur post itself..
Gamble - according to me none of them played a gamble. They have actually been going by the statement, kya khote hai kya paate hai jab dil ke faisle dimag se hote hai..they have been taking decisions using their mind which is the most unstable in the situation they are in and hence that made them make decisions in a haste without letting them accept the reality. And sadly they have not been able to shut up their hearts...their emotions refuse to accept practicality just like in real life scenarios.

For Ritik, it wasnt a gamble. A gamble is played only when you're getting something big outta it. Bigger Risk, gamble, won, even bigger reward. Or mayb outta habit and fun.
I haven't read or mite have missed your view in Ritik's decision on marrying Sonakshi. Time and again I have been mentioning in my posts, I don't see Ritik having any emotional involvement with Sonakshi..even today on their engagement day. Yes he supports her, wants to help her, but where is that strong feeling that you have for a person or a strong love connection that makes you forget or overlook big huge things?? Why would a person want to marry a girl who is always talking about her ex with him, whose ex has been brining problems (loan deny) to his life, whose ex according to Ritik has got them humiliated publically (newspaper) he's not in love with.
To be frank I have still not understood The reason for Ritik's decision to marry Sona. I have not understood what he will get out of it, what's the reward? A reward so big that he is willing to take the risk and play the gamble as mentioned by you. Coz in my opinion, it's not that he won't find another girl or there's no other girl like Sona for that matter. He mentioned he'll be a lucky guy IF Sona gets married to him but that surely again doesn't mean not marrying Sona will make him unlucky.

Now coming to Sona. I think it was a gamble when she told Dev the other day that if he agrees to maary her, she'll take care of parents and other things and won't even think twice.

If you ask me, Dev didnt have to do much today to pull Sona towards him... We saw since friday only that prior to engagement day she was most of the times in control of her emotions (except when alone or in front of Elena on an instance) or hell bent to do the engagement but when the actual moment was about to arrive, her frustration, her uneasiness, her fear all started coming out in open. And so even today, she had all her concentration on Dev. Even if he had not drunk or lets say much before he got drunk she still had all her attention towards him.

For Dev, he's sooo weak at the moment that he's passed that stage where he even has a singke sign of hope that something will happen. Infact he's accepted the fact that he doesn't deserve Sona. And in such situations plus with no faith in god, he can't even expect a miracle.

My disagreement with all your posts is on similar lines. PERSPECTIVE.
Your posts are what I wil call an ideal scenario where there is clear distinction between what should be done and what should not Be done...what is right and what is not right. They are far away from emotions..which comes first and foremost to humans in any situation and forms the basis of their actions and reactions
only practical logical and rational thought is far from reality for me and reality appeals more to me.
I would always prefer to focus on why it happened, why was it done. To me finding and answer to why and correcting it is far real than what should have happened (ideal)

Thank you for your response.
The only point I wanted to make is if they didn't try to make everyone happy at the cost of their happiness, they won't have hurt everyone today.

So the lesson is that choose your happiness every time. You can't make everyone happy. Just make yourself happy and everyone who truly loves you will be happy for you and the people who are not happy at your happiness, they don't really love you. They love themselves. Hence why bother with them?
