Part1
"Please don't do this... I beg in front of you... I love her" I said as tears trickled down my face.
The next moment my heart thudded fast so ever in shock, looking at a bottle in front of my eyes. A man was moving it to and fro in air with a smirk. My eyes widened and more tears broke out of them.
"You can't fool me" the man averred banging the bottle on my palm.
I shrugged my shoulders, "Dad!"
"This was so cheap Kabir" my mom stated in disgust.
"Mom!"
"What Kabir huh! You used glycerine to persuade us" my dad fumed.
I wiped my face and I seriously don't know why I used that idiotic thing, my eyes are still getting itched.
"What dad? You only tell me now, did you people leave me any other option?" I raised a brow in anger and wiped my eyes subsequently as they started flowing again due to glycerine.
My dad chuckled, "Your face doesn't seem you're angry"
I stared at him.
"Okay fine Kabir...go" my mom smiled.
I jumped in happiness and now I can term the tears as happy tears as they were really adamant to escape my eyes.
"But remember you are only going to Mumbai for shooting an episodic and you will come back and join theater back" my dad warned.
"Yeah of course dad" I side hugged him and he did the same.
"We love you" my mom asserted. I nodded and hugged her.
"okay okay go now" she said.
I was about to leave when my dad questioned, "You were saying you love her? What's that?"
I spun and winked, "Aamchi Mumbai dad!"
My parents chuckled.
So, girls and guys...well let me introduce myself first. I'm Kabir... Kabir Rathod... I live in Pune and I'm a theater artist. I also am a dancer, not very great, but people say that I dance well. Hence I got an opportunity to feature in an episode of a youth focusing television show. I'm glad to have my senior theatre artists so caring, humble and friendly, as some of them had proposed my name for this show. I gave the auditions in Pune itself and got selected. I was really happy but suddenly my happiness got a jerk when I realized that mere selection in audition can't let me meet my love. Well, I had told you. My love is Mumbai. This city I've yearned to visit. As I said I'm a theater artist so many of my colleagues and seniors do are somewhere related to this city and they talk about it many times.
Well, I tell you what the problem was... Actually, my father's sister also was a theater artist. Yeah, was. She passed away when I was 5. She was a great artist and had gone to Mumbai on her talent. She worked at films, in television and in advertisements too. Well, her murder still remains a mystery. I hope you got my problem now.
So, I first tried many things to convince my parents somehow as they are really understanding and love me a lot. But I knew convincing them for this wouldn't be too easy. I tried my best but they only said a no. Everything was done, my packing, my bookings, everything but I couldn't go without my parents' permission. Yeah... I love them a lot...like they do. Today was the day which were to decide will I ever meet my love or not.
And it was decided. I'm going to meet my love!
I inhaled the cool breeze stepping out of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. I'm in Mumbai! My love!
After 2 days, I stepped in at the set with so much of makeup on me, I felt like hell. Yeah...I did... It was so hot and the makeup was flowing away with my sweat. Although there were some guys who took care of me and my makeup but still I wasn't feeling comfortable as I was with lots of cakes of makeup for the first time. Yeah, I forgot to tell you that I had to shoot only for a dance sequence today. The dance was already taught and practiced yesterday. It was of only 10 minutes and I learnt it in a day easily. My choreographer was really impressed.
I was told that once the heroine comes, I have to dance with her twice and then real shot would be captured. Well that was so because the heroine of the episode had been shooting other stuffs so couldn't practise along with me. Well when she was heroine, obviously I was the hero. I smirked at myself being called the hero.
I was told that next day would the shooting for the rest of the episode would start. Finally, I'm going to act on television. I never yearned for it as I knew my life's reality but I thanked God that He fulfilled my small dream that I dreamt when I was a kid.
I was told that my heroine would be ready within some 5 to 10 minutes. Wait I meant, the heroine, not my heroine. Just slip of my tongue.
And I got a light tap on my shoulder. I turned to find a girl smiling at me. She said, "Shall we start?"
I smiled back, "Yeah"
Well she was my heroine...oh sorry...the heroine. Again slip of my tongue...don't mind please.
We practiced two times and she was too indeed a good dancer. The director said, "okay we'll shoot. Remember I want to shoot it in a take"
We both nodded and everybody took our positions. The lights went off and spotlight was showered on us.
The director said, "Action!"
