THOUGHTS
"*Masks are necessary for survival, Mr. Omkara Singh Oberoi, and the day you realize that, you'll remember me*."
Omkara abandoned his attempts at shaping the sculpture, running a hand through his long tresses, frustration evident in his stance. He had been trying, desperately so, to forget her words but he couldn't deny the truth those words portrayed. He was an idealist, true, but he was also an Oberoi, and who better than an Oberoi to know the importance of masks?? Very early on in his life, he had learned that everyone wore masks, that very few people were what they were believed to be.*His father under the guise of a loving family man, was nothing but a ruthless monster who wouldn't think twice of slaughtering his family if it brought him money. His mother had put on a happy facade to hide her grief for as long as he could remember. Even Shivaay and Rudra, his beloved brothers, had masks of their own, masks that would obscure their real selves the moment they stepped out of the house. He, himself, was no exception. The serene smiles, the calm demeanor, were they all not his cover ups too? His mild countenance that so seamlessly hid the bubbling volcano of his emotions was his very own personalized mask, he had long admitted to himself . He masqueraded his vulnerability and that girl,Ishana, she veiled her true self. Could he really judge her for that?? He couldn't, he decided, because that would just make him a hypocrite.
Omkara, smiling ruefully, acknowledged the fact that he had perhaps been too judgemental. He had again been blinded by his emotions. She had lied, she had done the one thing he abhorred over all else, and yet, he couldn't hate her. The rational part of his mind kept reminding him that he didn't know her side of the story. Shivaay had not long ago told him that the world wasn't all black and white, that there were shades of gray to it and maybe, just maybe, it was time for him to start looking at it that way.
Bela might've been a farce and their friendship a hoax, but his heart still believed that the girl he had met on the stairs all those days ago had been real. Her pain, her tears had been real. The raw agony in her eyes could not be faked and he had connected with that damaged soul. Long before he had even met Bela, he had befriended the crying girl on the stairs and that girl? She was no farce. That girl with a broken soul and those haunted eyes was his friend and Omkara Singh Oberoi didn't abandon his friends. He had cared for the girl behind the mask, not some farcical Bela. He had cared for Ishana. She had wronged him and he wanted to hate her for that but he also knew that she must have had her reasons. She had been a perfidious friend, yes, but he couldn't, wouldn't let go, not when his heart still believed that somewhere behind the mask hid the crying girl his heart had called out to.
A/N:Hey peeps!!!. This is the first piece of work I've dared to post on the forum. Honestly, I'm no author, but I just caught up with all the Ishqbaaaz episodes and the IshKara confrontation kept bugging me. I'm very disappointed in the way the CVs handled the entire fiasco because let's face it, Omkara is supposed to be the thinker here. Being the sensitive person that he is, I find it hard to digest that he would just forget about his friend, deceived or not. So this is basically how I wanted the drama to shape up.Like, love, Hate??? Please lemme know. Constructive criticism is welcome, rather awaited.

PS: Didcha hear the good news?? Ishana won't be seen in the episodes for a while , because apparently, the CVs realized the ridiculousness of the character too. Hopefully now we'll get IshKara scenes that actually make sense.
PPS: I do NOT hate Vrushika, she's awesome, but Ishana's a complete disaster. No offense to anyone, but please guys, no fan wars here.
