Do we have an inferiority complex vis a vis Hollywood? - Page 3

I don't care if the movie is from HW or BW...if its good ...I will watch it but in general I prefer BW over HW..

IMHO, there are silly and faltu movies in HW too.

Hollywood is superior in every way, be it the kind of creativity they have, the studios , the stars, the actors, everything beats Bollywood by miles. Bollywood is filled with lame-ass and over hyped star kids, most of them cannot act to save their lives, and people who can bring box office numbers are big fat uncles having their own cat fights like 18 year old girls, sometimes its so embarrassing when i recommend a bollywood film to my University friends, and they laugh at me as if i am offering them to watch a local movie. The image Bollywood has built over the years within the urban audience is bad, most people think that Bollywood films are about vulgarity or over exposure of songs and dances, and some think that Bollywood is just an updated version of south indian films.

But because the industry is better due to a more developed society, does it mean people should have an inferiority complex?

@Sherlock- Agreed. Definitely more genres and more variety.

When I pointed out the problems which HW has, I meant that, "hey, HW has these problems too", so we don't need to treat it like some great institution BW can never aspire to become like.

I think we should admire and respect a better industry, but realize that it has flaws too and isn't above criticism. No need to feel inferior about it, like many people do.

But change comes because we want better and that is because of the realization that something we have is inferior to something else. So recognizing something is inferior is not the problem IMO, but what we do with it. There is no reason things can't change you know to be as good if not better than the "superior" place. Thing to recognize is both so called inferior and superior places have their pluses and minuses. No place is perfect.

The quality, acting, story, direction, action sequences, visual effects and more over the trailers of Hollywood movies is much much more superior compared to Bollywood movies. We shouldn't forget that Hollywood spend money like water while making these movies and hence the level at which their movies are made are much higher than Bollywood movies and hence no comparison.
