Rekha, oh Rekha! Thank you, and Indrani (whose inbox must have wilted under the pressure of my pms yesterday LOL), for helping me unravel the knot I've been in since watching yesterday's episode. A knot that tightened upon learning that the marriage was going to be an act of one-upmanship from Shravan's side (as per Namik's IV).
But first things first - how supercalifragilistic... was Namik yesterday in the two scenes you talk about in your post! Making me hate Shravan Malhotra is no mean task, and he accomplished that with aplomb. 😃
I love Shravan. Period. Yesterday, I was MAD at him. Just could not accept that Shravan Malhotra could stoop down to the level where he doesn't even have empathy for his friend. If I bring in the love into the equation, it gets even murkier. But a loyal human being like Shravan Malhotra did not even - apparently - feel any empathy for his childhood friend. He said he'd have done the same for any woman. Ok, I granted him that. He said he still hated her. Ok, I granted him the cover of that lie. But everything said and done, I thought he should have felt that Sumo has been wronged. And that should have stopped him from saying some of the nasty things he said about her to Pushkar.
My mind was boggled. Shravan could be bitter, winded, vindictive. But he could not be small. And that's what I thought I was seeing.
What kind of soulmate still clings to his anger when the other half is suffering? Just beating the living daylights out of Aditya is not what Sumo needed him to do. I didn't expect him to go pull her into a bear hug, but calling her names like gold digger and all that... 😡
But Indrani and you have managed to get me past that logjam. Thank you! As I read your post, I was able to become a fly on the wall, and watch and understand how the avalanche of yearning was smothering Shravan, and he was unable to see the disconnect between his words and actions as he mouthed his nonsense.
BTW, he should just shut up, you know. Just keep his words for the court. In front of Sumo, just let his puppy eyes do the talking.
For his sake and ours, I hope the spite stops soon. I know the forum is delirious with the news of their shaadi, the way he "kidnaps" her and all. But in the middle of all that, I see the bitter smirk on his face while at the marriage registrar's office, and I hear Namik and Nikita talk about ego marriage and one-upmanship, and all that comes out of my mouth is a "GAWD, stop hurting each other"! I wanted Shravan to want to get married to Sumo after he learns that she loves him too. This boy is too messed up in his head right now to start a relationship as complicated as marriage. And if it's a tashan marriage, he will continue to act as Ramu's puppet and keep hurting Sumo 😡. But I guess his unbridled love for her will also make him reach out to Sumo, and this constant tussle will keep messing his head up further and further. (I totally expect Ramu to play the "Suman should dump PCT" card sooner or later. What would Shravan do then?)
Well Shravan Malhotra, in your hurry to score one over Sumo, you have landed yourself in the biggest quandary of your life. Well, she has signed the dotted line - for you. So now go walk that tightrope.
