KJo tried to show that reality but tried to make us sympathetic to the cheating leads and thats where he went wrong.

Though I thought he did show Dev and Maya as selfish people, flawed characters, not as ppl to be sympathized with.

People do have EMA's, they hide it from spouses, when caught they try to give justifications and excuses!

EMA is widespread now and especially the younger generation knows it too well how fickle relationships and marriages are nowadays, still people are acting all indignant and moralistic here😆

Its funny really when people turn moral all of a sudden when a woman is unfaithful to her husband while totally accepting when husband sleeps around, ala so many David Dhawan's so called comedies.🤢

And as for Reality, let me share a real life story which is more shocking than KANK.

I wont say who they are, just that I know them very well in real life, I dont approve of them, dont see them anymore but they do exist:

The characters:

Guy A

Woman B

A's wife C

B's husband D

A was married to C and had 2 daughters, aged 9 and 4 approx

B was married to D and had one son aged 10

A and B's husband were close friends, the couples met socially almost every weekend.

B and A started having an affair on the sly.

After some months, affair was out in the open.

A left his wife and 2 daughters, moved in with B who also left her husband and son.

They started living together and had a child, out of wedlock.

A's father who was a top businessman of Kolkata almost disowned him, kicked him out of the house.

Now after 15 yrs have passed, A and B are long married and live separately with their daughter.

C had divorced A long ago and brought up her 2 daughters with full support of her in-laws and shes also working to have self reliance.

Dont know what happend to B's husband but I guess he also moved on in his life and remarried.

Latest I heard was A and B go on vacations with their daughter and also take along A's 2 daughters from 1st marriage. Sometimes A's 1st wife C also accompanies them. So they are all settled now.😕

I agree it is rampant but that doesn't make it right n hence the reaction of many...it is immoral whichever way we look at it...at least imo...the woman/man who goes through the cheating episode will know how wrong it is...they won't remember the stats at that time whether it is rare or commonplace...it will always be wrong for them...

Yeah Maya behaved exactly the way kAran johar wanted her to in that situation. She was just trying to hide it from her husband. Lekin har raaz aakhir khul hie jaata hai, dhoke ka pata chal hie jaata hai.
