The major difference between two shows is Suhana never loved Sid..it was infautation and for her he was a perfect because he was handsome and rich. It was Ishaan who taught her what love is.In this case Sonakshi loves Dev with all his flaws and doesn't need any guy to teach her what love is .

If Ritvick can be understandingreat and is ready to wait for Sonakshi to accept him wholeheartedly then why Sonakshi doing the same for Dev is considered regressive ?

i honestly do not want anyone, especially R, to be the reason for the unity again. I really would like to see both of them realise their mistakes as mature adults, repent, express remorse, emerge stronger and more committed together.

One more thing. I felt Sona was getting too close to being a Mary Sue. Does nothing wrong. That isn't very good characterization.
She should also have growth arc however small. Here she is shown as a human being who can make mistakes and learn from them.

She needs to learn that love stories are not fairy tales like she imagined and that promises are easy to make but difficult to keep.

This is a very good thing.

This track wud make sense if sona herself calls of the the marriage
Dev can try but his stopping the marriage would again make him a bad guy
