Ch 35 : When You Are Around

"Why did we had to return back? I didn't wanted our trip to end-" Taani let out a sigh as she slumped down on the couch in living area of her house while the boys get their luggage from the car and joined her in living area.

"Where are bhai and dad?" Ronak asked his sister.

"Dad must be in office and bhai with his friends." Taani replied, she leaned back on the couch and closed her eyes to relax after a tiring journey.

"Di, I will be in my room." Ronak said to his sister who just hummed in response. Ronak got up and went in his room leaving the couple behind.

Rey who was seated beside her, shifted close to her and rested his head on her shoulder. Her eyes snapped open and she look at him with surprise filled eyes.

"Tired?" He asked her, he lifted his hand and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. Taani could feel jittery feeling returning back to her due to his close proximity. Not trusting her voice, she gave a small nod in response.

Rey got up suddenly, surprising her yet again as he bend down and scooped her in his arms.

"Rey, what are you doing? Put me down! Someone might see us-" She spoke to him in hushed tone, looking around to see if anyone is watching them which had him rolling his eyes at her. Taani wrapped her arms around his neck and tighten her grip in fear of falling down.

"There is no one except us." Rey told her as he started walking toward her room. He kicked the door open and entered inside. He walked over the bed and made her sit on the bed. Taani smiled at him as he knelt down on the floor before her and took her hands in his.

"Are you free tomorrow?" Rey asked her suddenly.

"Yes. But why are asking me this?"

"Because we are going out." He answered her with the killer smile of his playing on his eyes.

"You mean, On a date?" She asked to confirm, in a little hesitate tone.

"Yes. Now we are going to know each other, we will do it in proper way. I am taking you out on a date." Rey murmured softly. He brought her palm close to his lips and kissed her palm softly causing her to blush at the sweet gesture of his.

"I will come to pick you at 9 in the morning." Rey told her with a smile where as she nodded her head in positive response.

She was excited, she was looking forward to tomorrow to spend time with him. His presence in her life is a lovely reminder that fairy tales do exist. She might not a be a princess, but he is her prince charming. Their journey so far might not be a path of roses to walk on, but it was special.

"Now you take rest, I am leaving for home but i will call you after dinner." Rey told her. He cupped her face in his palms and pressed his lips against her forehead, leaving a tingling sensation within her as he pulled away but she could still feel the feel of his lips on her skin.

She lifted her eyelashes and look at him.

"Bye." He placed a tiny peck on her cute nose. Taani waved at him as he walked out of the room. With a sly grin on her face, she fell on her back on her bed.

She was hopelessly in love with him.

"Hey, princess. Breakfast is ready, come." Rishi called out for her standing at the doorway of her room.

"Coming, daddy." Taani replied to her father. She got up, taking her cell phone along with her, she walked out of the room and followed her father to dinning area.

"Today i have cooked special breakfast for my princess." Rishi announced happily as he made his daughter sit on the chair and he served her breakfast.

"I wish i was in di's place. Dad never pamper anyone like this-" Ronak, who was seated on the chair opposite to her, comment seeing his strict father pampering taani.

"I can smell Jealousy." Taani wriggled her eyebrows at her younger brother who sulked back in his seat.

"Thank you, daddy." Taani thanked her father and devoured her delicious breakfast.

"Where is swayum, Ronak?" Rishi asked his younger son.

"Bro left early to meet his friends." Ronak answered his father who shook his head in disappointment.

"Doesn't he have any other work than hanging out with friends? Instead of focusing on family & business, he is wasting his time behind friends and dance." Rishi mumbled, showing his displeasure toward his elder son who had chose a different path of life where he had distanced himself from his family and it prick rishi's heart.

"Daddy, can i go out today with my friend?" Taani asked her father, little scared to ask after his father's sadness regarding swayum.

"You can go, princess. I don't have any problem with you three making friends and hanging out with them until you are not ignoring your family. For me family comes first and i want my kids to give first priority to family." Rishi replied to her, he patter her head and asked her to eat to her breakfast.

Taani smiled at her father, she knew what family means to him. At younger age, he had seen his parents and siblings falling apart and he didn't want the history to repeat. He want to move forward in life with his wife and kids by his side. He always put his family before himself and she respect and admire her father for this.
