Shravan and Sumo were friends to begin with. They had so much fun together. They built a solid foundation for understanding by spending all that time together. That would come under the zone of friendship.
When we are making friends what we look at are common grounds of interest. What can we do together? Through what activity can we enjoy and build the friendship. Friendships are made among equals. Else it becomes a master - chamcha relation.
The other end of the spectrum is a partnership.
What is a partnership? Something like marriage, boyfriend/girlfriend, colleagues, business associates.
They say opposite poles attract each other. That is because in a partnership we don't seek equality or common grounds of interest. Blinding applying the concept of equality to a partnership will only result in its failure. Instead partners need to look for a symbiotic relationship.
Like a cow and a bird.
Bird gets good worm food and nice warm safe place to sit.
Cow gets the leeches off its back.
A relationship where one partner takes care of the other's weakness.
So the binding factor in a partnership is vulnerability. Which is why the damsel in distress story has been the template formula for telling countless love stories. Any deviation from this formula is difficult to show realistically.
In the show initially Suman is shown as invulnerable and invincible. A girl who has the brains and the balls. A true ballbuster. Establishing a love story for such a girl is an uphill battle. That is why they had to make her the ablaa naari for a while. Else where is the conflict essential for building a love story?
I am not sure what this show is about right now. I would like it to be a leap from friendship to partnership. A travel from a place where Shraman stroked each other's ego to a divine destination where there is no place for ego. Only symbiosis and merging of two unique identities into one brilliant all pervading light.
Ah! What a romantic Sunday.
