I'd like to attempt a historical next: Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Reveals Nawazuddin Sidiqui, adding Dilip Kumar's Mughal-e-Azam is a fave.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is collaborating with his Lunchbox director Ritesh Batra again and is super charged about Photographer which rolls in June-July 2017. Quiz him on the role and he points out that the title is selfexplanatory. "It's based on a photographer's life and I play the photographer," he quips.

But before that he has Rahul Dholakia's period drama, Raees, coming up early next year during the Republic Day weekend. Shah Rukh Khan plays a bootlegger in '80s Gujarat and Nawaz is the tough cop hot on his heels. Raees is part of his grand plan to experiment with every kind of role. "I've tried to put myself in an uncomfortable zone because that's when you give your best. I will accept anything different that comes my way," asserts the actor who plays a golfer he's modeled on Anirban Lahiri, Aditi Ashok and Tiger Woods in his next, the Sohail Khan directorial, Freaky Ali. "This is the first time I'm playing a full fledged romantic hero and I've begun to enjoy the genre."

So what's the next plan of action? "I'd like to attempt a historical next, a character like Dilip Kumar's Salim in Mughale-Azam which is one of my dream roles," he confides.

He's worked with Salman in Bajrangi Bhaijaan and SRK in Raees, how different are the two Khans? "Shah Rukh is very humble around his co-actors, with Salman bhai it's always fun, there is no stress on set when he's around," he grins.
