The Khans of Bollywood - Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir maybe ruling Bollywood by breaking all kinds of box office records, but it is Akshay Kumar who is the most bankable actors in Bollywood...

Here's why we say so...

Over the past few years, we have seen people talk about how the Khans of Bollywood -Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir are ruling Bollywood. The mammoth numbers each of their film earn, make people believe that they are the most bankable actors in Bollywood. However, that isn't the case. Our trade expert Akshaye Rathi (exhibitor and distributor) revealed to us EXCLUSIVELY that it is in fact Akshay Kumar who is the most bankable actor.

We all know that the Khans do one or two films a year which earns about Rs 200 - Rs 300 crore. On the other hand, Akshay works on four films a year which make about Rs 80-90 crore. If you do the math, Akshay gives more money back to the industry. In fact, he sees to it that the quantity of films he does, does not affect the quality of the films. And on top of all this, he makes sure that through his films, all the people including the producers, distributors and everyone else make money.

As Akshaye revealed to us earlier, "Akshay may not have entered the 200 crore club yet but his films release at regular intervals (every 3-4 months) and earn nearly 80-90 crore each. That's a steady stream of money that enters the industry after every 3-4 months. That makes him highly profitable for everyone. Despite not having a 200 crore film, he is right up there with the Khans who release one film a year and earn more than 200 crore. He is quite clearly the ATM machine for the industry!"

Recently, we have seen Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have an occasional flop. Most recently, we saw Dilwale and Fan fail for SRK, while Jai Ho was dud for Salman. But Akshay hasn't had a bad spell in a long time. Films like Gabbar is Back and Brothers also made Rs 80 crores at the box office (the bare minimum each of Akki's film makes). So what makes all Akshay Kumar films so successful?

Akshaye mentioned to us, "All his films are typical masala entertainer. He knows what his audience likes to see him in and doesn't deviate from it. He sticks to the usual. He knows just too well how to play to the gallery. He doesn't experiment much. Yes, he has done aSpecial Chabbis but that too was a mainstream entertaining and engaging film. What I meant by no experimental film here is that we never see Akshay doing a Gangs Of Wasseypur ever."

So even though Akshay might not be breaking records with his films, his films earn well and make everyone happy. Ain't that the perfect scenario? And with Rustom releasing this Friday (August 12) we expect Akshay to prove his stature again!
