Hello people. After so long I am writing something that too completely on the ObBros. this was supposed to be an OS but then I felt it was too long plus I felt that whatever I have written is utter rubbish since I am having a writer's block currently. I don't know. I feel like I should probably stop writing for a month or so. May be then I can actually start liking what I write. Anyways read this and tell me if I should ever write anything on the brothers.

I will probably include this in my Did I love you not? Series, where this will be the back story of all three ObBros. Also this is uploaded from my phone since I am at work right now so the format might be a little weird. Sorry about that.

You mean the world to me.

The sunlight slowly hit filled the room as the small sleeping form on the bed shifted. Squeezing his eyes shut the small boy tried to face away from the window and go back to sleep. But the sleep evaded him now and he sat up on the bed giving out a huge yawn. Stretching his small little arms up he looked around noticing that his bhaiya was not around. he pulled the blanket off and jumped off the bed. He knew where he could find his bhaiya. He must be in the kitchen.

Rudra smiled and excitedly ran to the kitchen only to find it empty. He frowned and then it hit him that he should check O's room too. He quickly climbed up the stairs and made his way to Omkara's room. He opened the door and saw Omkara who had been sitting on the bed. To Rudra O seemed different. He thought about how he looked different and decided that O looked like a rain cloud. All grey and dull.

Ignoring O, Rudra started to look around.

"what are you searching for?" Omkara asked.

Rudra turned to him, his lips pressed together in concentration.

"I am searching for bhaiya. He is here right?"

He saw Om's face change colour and his frown deepened. Omkara got off the bed and walked to him. putting his hands on Rudra's shoulders Om said, "he isn't here Rudra. He has gone to study Cambridge."

"oh" Rudra said looking down disappointed but then his face lit up with a smile, "but he'll be back by evening, right?"

He saw his Om look at him sadly and slowly shake his head. Rudra didn't undertand. No one had told him about his Bhaiya leaving. His bhaiya had put him to sleep last night and patted his hair as he slept. And now all of a sudden his bhaiya was not here. Rudra didn't like this. He didn't like the fact that his bhaiya had left without a word.

"I still think Shivay that you should have told him that you were leaving?"

Shivay sighed. it was not like he had wanted to hide the fact that would leave from Rudra but he was worried of Rudra's reaction. As it is it took a lot of effort to convince Omkara about this decision and Omkara was not a kid. Rudra was and he was sure that if it came down to it Rudra would have hidden in his luggage just to be with his bhaiya. Shivay let out a soft chuckle at the thought.

"it's not funny Shivay." He heard Omkara say.

"I am not saying it's funny. Has he complained a lot?" Shivay asked a bit concerned.

"on the contrary" Omkara's voice came from the receiver, "he hasn't complained even once. Like he doesn't are that you have left."

Shivay felt a prick in his heart. Did Rudra really not care? had he already forgotten him?

As if sensing his thoughts Omkara said, "we all know he is putting up an act. I am sure he misses you like crazy. He even now sleeps in your room you know."

"he does?" Shivay said, happiness spreading its warmness in his chest.

"yes he does." Omkara said and Shivay knew that he was smiling too.

Shivay was sitting at the bench reading his economics book when he felt someone put their hands on his eyes covering them.

"Saniya. I know that's you." he said shrugging.

"how did you know that?" she asked plopping down next to him.

"who else would do something so immature?" Shivay said with slight amusement in his voice.

Saniya's mouth opened in ah O' shape and she punched his arm with a cry of "how mean?"

Shivay just laughed out. He looked at Saniya as she snatched his book from his hand and began reading it. here in Cambridge she was the only friend he had. Someone who was so full of life and who made him happy. He was really glad to have met her.

"O"

Omkara looked up only to see a tiny Rudra standing in his doorway clutching a pillow.

"what's wrong?" Om asked him, pushing aside his covers and stepping down from the bed.

"can't sleep." Rudra said looking down. om could see that the tears were threatening to fall out of his eyes and Rudra was clenching his lips tightly in an effort to stop them. He sighed. this was bound to happen. Rudra adored Shivay, spent almost every moment of his life with him. he even slept in his room. So now that Shivay was not here, he was actually surprised that it took Rudra two days to come to him in the night.

Without saying a word he took hold of his arm and guided him to his bed. Shivay wasn't here but he was and he would make sure that Rudra was happy.

"it's terrible." said the police officer to Tej and Shakti as they stood on the other side of the glass of the interrogation room.

"what exactly happened?" Tej said rubbing his index finger on his forehead to sooth the oncoming headache. Shakti looked sideways only to see Shivay sitting there motion less, staring in to the distance. He felt tears spring to his eyes.

"it was a case of kidnapping as we have already informed you. but from all the evidence that we have gathered it is clear that your nephew was not taken by force into that warehouse. Though once there he was treated rather badly."

"I can see that." said Tej as he saw the bruises on Shivay's face, some of which had turned purple while the others were still fresh red.

"we have done the routine medical checks and didn't find any immediate critical threat but we have to hand him over to the medical team for his detailed check. And before that we need his testimony. But he hasn't said a word yet. May be speaking to you both might help."

The officer was about to add something else when he stopped. But Tej noticed it and narrowed his eyes.

"is there something more?"

The officer looked up at Tej for a moment and then making a decision said, "when we reached there to rescue your nephew the place was extremely quiet. We found him and got him out but he kept insisting to go back in. he even turned violent and fought our officers who tried to stop him and then the blast happened."

Tej frowned whereas Shakti gasped, thinking of how close his son had come to death.

The officer continued, "we think, one of the kidnappers may have been his friend or someone he knew."

When Tej and Shakti entered the room Shivay didn't even look up. He just kept staring at the wall across the table.

"who was it?" said Tej as soon as he reached Shivay. Shivay just looked up at him blankly and then turned his head back to continue staring at the wall.

"bhaiya please. He is in trauma." Shakti said softly.

"trauma? he is himself responsible for this. Why in the world did h go to the warehouse?" tej said, his anger slowly seeping into his voice.

"Shakti. Leave. I want to talk to Shivay alone."

Shivay sighed. there was no point in avoiding this conversation. His bade papa wanted answers and as usual his own father was not strong enough to stop him.

"I went there with a friend."

His sudden answer quieted down both Tej and Shakti and they both looked down at him. Shakti looked at his brother with wide eyes. Tej signalled him to leave and he did. Shivay saw this from the corner of his eyes and almost screamed. The one time when he was so vulnerable couldn't his father just stay behind to atleast show his support? That he cared?

"friend?" Tej asked. "and what happened to this friend."

That question made a pang of pain go through his heart and Shivay felt his breath hitch.

"she died in the blast."

Tej observed Shivay's bruised face and he could see pain etched on it. but his long experience in reading other people enabled him to see the slight traces of anger on that face too.

"was this friend the one who took you there?"

Shivay closed his eyes in anguish and slightly nodded. Saniya was a friend. He had trusted her. and she had betrayed him.

"she was with the kidnappers." Tej stated.

Shivay just opened his eye and continued staring at the wall but this time there were tears brimming in his eyes.

"I want her name."

"she is dead. Her name makes no difference now." Shivay spoke up immediately.

"I want to know her name." Tej insisted. He wanted to check her background to find out if this kidnapping was just a normal kidnapping or some of their enemies plot.

"Saniya."

Tej frowned.

"Saniya what? I want her full name."

"I don't know."

After a few moments of silence he continued. "she needed the money. Her father was in the hospital."

"where is her father?"

"I don't know."

That surprised Tej. He looked at Shivay baffled and asked, "so she was your friend and you didn't even ask her for her surname?"

"she was my friend. Not her surname." Shivay said slowly.

"and that is why you got tricked."

Shivay looked up at Tej, his eyes dilated.

"her father was in the hospital so you let her kidnap you? are we running a charity?"

"I didn't let her." Shivay said through gritted teeth.

Tej stopped at that and then sighed.

"Shivay, you should have known. We are Oberois. we need to be careful. You can't associate with anyone below our status because all they want is money. That is why they approach rich people like us. She may have been in need of money but that doesn't change the fact that she used your naivety against you."

"she was my friend." Shivay said still dazed and Tej just looked at him sadly.

Omkara walked into his room and slammed the door. His heart was beating rapidly. He clutched his chest and his knees hit the floor.

When he had walked in the mansion a few moments ago his choti ma and his mom were fighting as usual. and like usual it had escalated. He had ignored them and walked up the stairs to search for Rudra. But when he entered Rudra's room he froze.

Rudra was curled up on the floor in a ball, his hands covering his ears desperately chanting the words, "make it stop".

Omkara ran to him and knelt beside him trying to pry his hand away from his ears.

"Rudra, Rudra damn it...Rudra...look at me. hey!"

But Rudra wasn't listening. His pupils were dilated and he was not even aware of Omkara's presence near him. Omkara made him sit up and forcefully tried to make Rudra face him.

"Rudra, please look at me." he pleaded but to no avail.

"Rudra...Rudra!..Rudra!!"

The last shout from Om got a startle from Rudra who looked at his face confused, his eyes wide. And then in a blink Rudra lost consciousness and fell on Omkara. Omkara felt panic rise in him but stamped it down immediately. He propped Rudra against the bed and ran down to get somebody's help. He called out to his mom and his Choti ma but both of them were still busy fighting to even notice him.

Cursing under his breath he ran to the phone and dialled up the doctor's number. He then called his father's office but he was told that Tej Singh Oberoi was out of India. He stared at the receiver stunned. Out of the country? And no one at home was even informed about it.

Leaving the phone he ran up again to Rudra's room where on his way he saw his dadi walking towards him as she consoled a crying Priyanka. Right now his brain was in such a frenzy that Priyanks's sobs were like hammers. He walked up to Dadi and asked Priyanka to quiet down. she immediately shut up and looked at him scared.

Omkara immediately felt guilty for his harsh tone but he didn't have time right now. he had to get to Rudra.

"dadi, it's Rudra...he fainted."

The shock on his dadi's face almost made him question his decision of informing her. but she quickly recovered and caught hold of Priyanka's hand and turned around to walk to Rudra's room. Om could still hear the muffled sobs from Priyanka and felt like banging his head against the wall. He hadn't meant to shout at her. he was just really panicked right now.

Omkara slowly got up from the ground. He had to go say sorry to Prinku. But before that he needed to talk to Shivay. his choti ma had warned him not to call Shivay on his own and that whenever Shivay had time he would call him himself but right now he really did need to talk to Shivay.

"please run Shivay."

"why did you do this?"

"I needed the money. My father is dying. I need money for his treatment."

"you were my friend."

"I am sorry."

"why are you helping me now?"

"because you are my friend. I thought she just wanted money but she wants to kill you Shivay. she hates you."

"who does? Who is she?"

"we don't have time. please run."

Saying this Saniya pushed him towards the door.

"there are people out there who have come to rescue you."

"come with me."

"I will. Just go for now. I'll make sure no one follows you."

When Shivay looked at her unconvinced she smiled at him and said, "I have lied to you a lot Shivay. but this is my last lie."

Shivay was still under the effect of the drug that they had kept giving him so her words made no sense to him. nothing did. It all felt like a dream. A nightmare. He turned around and walked to the door. He placed both his palms against it and pushed it with all the strength he had left in him. the door gave in and he lost his balance and stumbled out into the light. The light hurt his eyes and he covered them. He suddenly felt arms grab him and he instinctively tried to fight them. He didn't even realise that he was being pulled away from the ware house. he was pushed against the ground roughly to stop him from resisting.

"calm down. we are here to help you." he heard one of them say.

Slowly the words sunk in and he relaxed in their hold. He looked up from the ground to see the ware house. everything seemed to have calmed down when suddenly the building burst out in flames.

Shivay froze and then it hit him that Saniya was still inside. He got a surge of energy with which he pushed the officers holding him down away and ran towards the warehouse. But he was immediately apprehended again and was pulled back. He kept struggling to go in but soon his tired body gave out and he blacked out.

Shivay woke up with a jerk. A nightmare, no a memory. He put his face in his hands. He could feel the fabric of his shirt sticking to his skin due to sweat. His heart was beating rapidly and then suddenly he felt a pang. He rubbed his chest but the pang grew into an ache slowly spreading around his heart. He looked sideways and saw the glass of water on the side table. He tried to reach it but a sharp pain surged through his chest and he lost his balance and fell from the bed, unconscious, on the floor with a thud.

Omkara was walking towards his room when he saw his father enter his room, busy on his phone. Omkara fisted his hands. That man seriously was one of a kind. Glaring daggers at the door he walked in after him.

"where were you?"

Tej stopped mid motion and turned halfway to see that it was Omkara who had called out to him.

"I'll talk to you later." He said and cut the call. now turning fully to face Omkara he asked, "and from when have I started telling telling you where I go?"

"you should tell now!" Omkara screamed. "my brother fainted after having a panic attack and when I try to call you, you are not even in the same country!" he said exasperated.

Tej pressed his lips together and said sternly, "I had work."

"but your son had a panic attack" Omkara said incredulously.

Tej looked at him for a moment and then said rather calmly, "I didn't know in advance that he was going to have an attack."

"but you did know right that the last time doctors had said that his condition has come to a point where he may start experiencing panic attacks?"

When Tej's face remained impassive Omkara's eyes widened in realisation.

"you didn't know!" he said on the verge of hysteria, "you didn't know that your own son was not well. He hasn't been well for months."

"Omkara." Tej said almost chiding him, "I don't have the time to deal with such small problems right now. you have no idea how big a problem I had to deal with while you were here taking care of your brother. "

Omkara looked at him stunned. Then he looked at him in disgust and said, "really? Tell me. tell me what is more important to you than Rudra. Who else was dying in this world?"

Tej looked at him for a moment contemplating if he should tell Om the truth. But then he remembered Shivay's words.

"bade Papa. Please. Don't let Omkara or Rudra know about this. it's a request."

"Omkara. You are tired. Go to your room and rest."

Saying this Tej turned back and put the phone back to his ear. Omkara glared at his back in anger and stormed off from there and out of the mansion.

Shivay was sitting infront of his psychologist. It was time for his weekly session. These session had been going on for about a two months now. and still his nightmares hadn't stopped.

"so Shivay, had any sleep last night?" the doctor Brown asked putting his file aside and giving his full attention to Shivay.

"a little." Shivay said slowly.

"well, I think this is a progress. So what do you want to do now. your college term is over. I heard you refused to go to your convocation."

"too many people." Shivay said calmly, though Dr Brown felt the slight fear in his voice."

"are you going to go back now? I would rather you continue your treatment here. I have your medical reports. Your heart condition is not ideal for travel as of now."

"I am fine." Shivay said immediately.

"are you?" Dr Brown countered.

"when was the last time you talked to your brothers?"

Shivay felt a cold chill run down his spine. Omkara's small smie and Rudra hearty laugh, he could see them. But for last two months he hadn't talked to them. Omkara had kept calling him and he had never answered any of them. Then even Omkara stopped calling. And that hurt. But he just couldn't do it. he couldn't talk to Omkara knowing how well his brother knew him. he was scared that Om would figure out everything just from the sound of his voice. And he didn't want that. he didn't want to let Omkara, his dadi, Rudra, Priyanka, his mom or his badi maa know about what had happened to him.

But now he was getting worried. The last time he had made up his mind to talk to Om but when he had called Om had refused to talk to him. and Rudra had refused to come to the phone. And that scared him. so he had decided he needed to go back.

"I have to go back. I need to see my brothers."

"but Shivay, your treatment is going on. Not only with me but with Dr hokkins too. The drug that you were being given there has left your heart seriously week. I can't allow you to go and Dr hokkins won't let you go."

"I am not asking for permission." Shivay said with authority, "I am here to inform you. as for my treatment, I'll continue it in India."

The Dr sighed. "fine if Dr Hokkins allows you. personally I feel that being with your brothers may actually help you recover emotionally. After all the scar given to you was by a person you were close to."

"she was a gold digger."

Dr brown was taken aback by Shivay's response not because of it's suddenness but because of his words. When he had first come to him Shivay had repeatedly defended his friend Saniya but now his words contradicted him.

"Shivay, I thought you said she needed money."

"of course she did. Poor people always need money and hence try to swindle it from rich people. All poor people are like that. I thought she was different after all she had worked hard to come to this college and get that scholarship. But all this hardwork, sincerity, loyalty all of it is just a pretence to trap rich people. They always want shortcuts."

"Shivay, I think you are being too harsh. Not everyone is like that"

"Everyone is like that." Shivay countered immediately, "I should have been careful. I should have checked her class, her surname, her status before associating with her."

"Shivay..."

Shivay cut him, "tell me, if she was rich would she have done this to me?"

At that Dr Brown shut up and looked at Shivay whose eyes screamed his pain and despair. Understanding that contradicting him would do no good right now Dr Brown just let the session get over.

Omkara sighed. he wasn't sure where his friend was taking him. but he really did not want to go home. all there would be were fights and the emptiness in his room. Rudra and Priyanka were gone on a trip with Dadi. He could understand. The doctor had adviced to take him away from the battlefield that their house had turned into. He had wished to go to, but His father had objected to it severely. After all if he missed classes how could he follow in to Shivay's steps and go to Cambridge? It didn't matter that he didn't want to do it, all that mattered was what that man wanted.

When the car stopped Omkara looked out the window to see the house that had lights flashing out from it's windows. A party. that was where they were going he deduced. If Shivay had been here Omkara wouldn't have even bothered to come here. But Shivay wasn't here and he felt lonely. And so he had just agreed to go anywhere his friends took him as long as he didn't have to go back to that mansion.

"come on." He heard his friend say and got down from the car. Omkara followed him through the gate.

As soon as he opened the door though he felt the urge to turn back and make a run for it for the living room where the dance floor was set up was stinking of alcohol. But remembering the lonely corridors of the mansion covered in darkness that were waiting for him If he turned back, omkara just followed his friend up the stairs.

"the party is down. why are we going up?" he screamed into his friend's ear to be heard over the loud music.

"this is not the party we are attending. We are going to a party which is cooler than this."

Omkara frowned. What did he mean by that? shrugging he let it go. Soon he would find out anyway.

Okay here is the first part. Please do tell me how it was. the next post shall have the second part if you'll actually even want it.

PS: all my FF readers, I am really sorry that I have not updated the next chapter yet but as I mentioned before, I am suffering from a serious writer's block. Everything i write, I just end up hating it. even this TS I am not satisfied with. So please do tell me if I should complete this now.
