In real life also many have hided their love to their parents.That does not mean they r insensitive towards their parents.They tell latter only.

Sona advised him reg sitting pooja.But if U have watched the epi.He sit in pooja for his mom's sake.To acknowledge his mom strength.After the pooja he thanked Sona.That because of her advice.He could see the smile on his mom's face.He did that to see his smile on his mom face.Like Ishwari U also forgot to see the main goal behind him sitting in pooja.He sat for his mom happiness.Like Ishwari you also see the situation like she saw.Sona is changing her son n he did it for her.Good changes should be welcomed.Like how Ishwari was happy seeing Neha changing for Ranveer.She should have felt the same.But she was afraid of loosing imp n also the power in Dev life.

@Bold - That's the main problem.He cannot see the true face of his mom.After seeing it also.He has no courage to question her.He blame himself for the mess.He need to have the courage to face the situation.Not find temporary solution for that problem.He is insensitive towards Sona.But he has never been insensitive towards his mom.

He has been insensitive to Ishwari. He just didn't know it. He failed to see that while his mom night be happy to see him sit in pooja, how hurt she would be when she knows the real reason is where he failed to consider her feelings. Same thing with hiding romance and even choosing the curtains when he took them both shopping.

Any person with an ounce of intelligence would know not to get into such a situation. It's like trying to answer the question "Have you stopped beating your wife yet??" You stepped in it no matter how you respond to it. The only think you can do is get away/be neutral.
