Thank you. I got thrown off by the garden/entrance. It looked like a bungalow rather than a flat. But i guess the stars idea of apartment is different from our idea 😊
But i honestly do wonder, how expensive can a bungalow even be in mumbai ? The male stars take home like minimum 10 crores for a movie + a billion advertisements. How come they still can;t afford it ? I remember srk saying that he pretty much went bankrupt to buy his house. How expensive are they?
Oh yes, I think they have a terrace converted into a garden in their flat, which is why it seems more like a bungalow than a flat. Agreed, their idea of an apartment is very different - nothing less than luxury for these folks!
Mumbai is really an expensive place. It is true that actors make a lot of money now, especially with reports of Ranbir buying a 35 cr flat in Pali Hill, just opposite his dad's bungalow... but even the flats are crazy expensive! Flats are different from bungalows in the sense that the cost of a flat usually depends on the rate per sq ft, which is bigger if the building is modern/luxury, area is nice, sea-facing etc. A typical rate per sq ft in Bandra/Juhu etc is 50,000 Rs. per sq ft, so for a nice 3000 sq ft flat you'd have to shell out 15+ crore.
From what I've read about Mannat, SRK spent 11 crore in early 2000s - actors didn't really make that much money back in the one-man producer time and only really started making money now in the 2000s/2010s with becoming producers themselves and with the entry of studios. So it is believable that when SRK bought Mannat he invested a lot of his savings. Apparently Mannat is worth over 200 crore now (including the annexe building SRK built behind the main structure, and the main structure can't be modified as its been deemed a historical building now).
