Preeto right now is my favorite character in this entire series .
😈 warning i am about to go into a lovely rant please be warned.
What I love about her.
I love the way she is portrayed. She is not a typical MIL who start hating her bahu from the get go for not legitimate particular reason what so ever other than "i don't like her and not good enough for my precious son"😡. Yes Preeto did not want this marriage to happen but You can literally see preeto trying her best to make things work because she loves her son and her son claims to love somu and to make her son happy she will do any thing for him😊. Preeto doesn't hate somu she just dislikes the fact That it was a forced marriage and she did not have a choice in it . But now that it has happened I love her "if life gives you lemons make lemonade" attitude towards her new bahu. I love that she is giving soumya a chance to proof that she can make her son happy. Eg. Doing all those rituals with somu when they came home. I love that she really tries to bring them close by asking harman how he would have proposed and daring somu to say I love you❤️ and making her cook and serve harman and praising somu's cooking and standing her ground about harman eating the food.I love how she is the back bone of the family and maybe the smartest 👏person in this series ( she always notices the small things and ask's the right question⭐️.) . Most off all I love that she is a mother bear who puts her children's happiness first no matter what . But still understand that somu is human and not a punching bag to take out all her anger on.( As in the case of most mother in laws in serials)most of all I love her efforts in trying to understand soumya) .
Most importantly I love the mother in her . To me she brings backs memories every time raavi and harman are fighting and she tries to referee them ( to me this is what mothers do stop our children from strangling😃 each other) my most memorable one is after the wedding when the siblings where going at it and preeto told them to SHUT UP and tried speaking from the corner of her mouth that they should at-least wait for the guest to leave🤣 . ( My mother use to tell us that she will deny knowing us if we do something that embarrasses her in front of too others). and the one time when after the priest left she was following him around with a pillow and all of a sudden nimmi appeared in front of her preeto's expression was priceless and her "we will pretend i wasn't doing that attitude" (i saw my mother in her at that moment following us around and saying when guest leave you are dead but she never remembers😎)(i lived with my cousin so she was always shouting)
preeto to me is a lioness always protecting her cubs but she also realise that soumya too is someone else's cub (do unto other what you want them to do unto you) . she and nimmi to me are same in this case just both protect in different ways.
from what they have shown preeto is an orthodox woman who is very superstitious and has a lot of beliefs and most importantly wants grandchildren. i know for a fact that she wont be able to accept somu when she finds out because to her somu will be like a curse to her family and preeto will do anything to protect them and that will mean sending somu out. i understand who she is and her character and what she will do in future but i still love her. i see she wants happiness and will see somu as a threat to that happiness. a threat that has to be remove almost at any cost. sometimes what you thing is right doesn't have to be right for others just as long as you see it.(e.g preeto is the most religious person in her house and you will thing after so many years of living with people of little belief she would have changed but that makes her say "i will pray for them and myself)
