Heya people! My name's Aahana. I'm new to this show and haven't seen all the episodes but I like whatever little I have managed to catch so I just thought of coming to this forum and what I saw here was an ugly fan war taking place with each one dissing the other and telling the one they disagree with or with a different point of view to switch off their T.V and watch something else 😆
The most polarizing character seems to be Ishana and everyone has an opinion on her so I would also like to give my two cents with the risk of being told to change my channel and watch something else 😉 😆
So we are shown a girl who is beautiful, full of life and super filmy with a big problem in her kitty. She needs big bucks and if she fails to manage the money her family's life will be in great danger and she thinks the only way to prevent that is through fooling and cheating a rich man.
Now I agree with everyone who says that she's unethical and dishonest and there are a lot of other ways through which you can earn money but what I don't understand is the obsession with having a heroine who is always ethical, never lies/or lies only in the right way and is always honest in her behavior. When I saw Ishana's character for the first time I was like, "wow! A con woman as a heroine! When have we seen this on Indian television? Never! Seems like things are changing" but when I came here and saw how people weren't even willing to give this character a chance to develop and being judgemental I realized maybe our audience is still stuck in the Ekta kapoor era 😕
We all already have a strong, gutsy girl who is also surrounded by financial problems but earns through the right way in the form of Anika so why can't we give space to someone who has more or less the same problems but with different beliefs? Why can't we have some diversity in the character department? Those who watch American shows might get what I'm saying. Over there we have lead heroes and heroines who are con artists, prisoners, actual criminals with amazing story lines and character development and yet no one jumps to judge them. In fact there was a show where the main character is a charming con artist apprehended by the police. We think he will be reformed and made to lead a normal life but instead we are shown that he never really manages to let go of that habit and finally returns to it in the end. Heck! We even see shows wherein sworn terrorists are given a second chance to come out of the hellish life they have chosen for themselves then why can't we give Ishana a second chance? Why this mentality of once a criminal, always a criminal? Why can't a girl who chose the wrong path to survive in this big world deserve happiness later when she's given up her bad habits? Why this inexplicable craze to see characters only in black and white? Why no space for some shades of gray when we are finally getting to see it? Seriously baffles me! but that doesn't mean I have no problems with Ishana's character because I feel the cvs are not oiling their brains enough to explore what all amazing things can be done with this character. They have turned her into a comedy circus when they can make her intense and fun at the same time. I really hope the writers don't waste this opportunity and develop her in the way no one has ever seen on Indian t.v.
Really looking forward to seeing how both, Om and Ishana learn from each other's traits and experiences and realize there are many layers to a story and not just what one see's on the surface. 👍🏼
P.S No fan wars please! We all should learn to coexist without putting each other down. Some peace, guys! This forum is like a battlefield 😆
