CHAPTER 19

"Just what are you doing here???" Geet literally shrieked as she grasped her surrounding. And she thought she would spend some good time with Maan. But definitely not with his stupid friends around. Adi tak toh theek tha lekin woh teenon bhi!!! Grrr!!!

"Bolo na Bhabhi!!! Surprise!!!" Dev exclaimed, this time a bit louder, flashing all his teeth.

"Excuse Me???!!! Bhabhi kisko bola???!!!" Geet rolled her eyes at them crossing her arms around her chest and Maan who was quiet all along got the clue. Ok!!! She does NOT like them, he concluded inwardly. Her expressions certainly conveyed that.

"Geet it's ok!!! Adi ke saath aaye honge," Maan told her only to receive a glare in return.

"Dekhiye MISS Geet, aapko pasand nahi toh hum chale jaate hai. Hum toh yeh soch ke aaye the ke hone waali Bhabhi ke saath kuch waqt bitaaenge, gappe shape maarenge, unhe theek se jaanege lekin khair koyi baat nahi. We got your message, chalo guys, chalte hai... kahin yeh na ho ke idhar unki baat nahi maani aur kal class mein punishment mile humein. Waise bhi bina wajah ke punishment dene mein Miss ko mazaa aata hai na" Yash said, in his usual, fake emotional, overacting-self as he grabbed his 2 partners by their neck and the three reluctantly made their way to the door while Geet glared him even more. Did he just taunt me???!!!

Chalo!!! Nautanki shuru!!! Maan thought. Lekin yeh Geet hai guys, not me. Khood iss field mein professional hai, woh nahi rokne waali hai tum logon ko, Maan surpressed a laugh.

As they reached the door, Arjun stopped in his tracks and turned around.

"Why did you stop??? Aur beizzati khaani hai kya???" Dev asked him.

"Actually ek sawaal tha!!! Main toh Bhabhi bula sakta hoon na???" he quizzed confusedly... "Mera matlab woh Annie au..." he continued but receiving no answers he stopped midway. "Ok...samajh gaya," he added meekly, gulping hard.

"Guys ruko!!!" Pinky shouted from behind. "You're misunderstanding Geet. She'll never tell you to go away, haina Geet???" Pinky looked at her expectantly, anticipating a positive reply from her. "Haina GEET!!!" she tried again.

"Whatever!!! I need to shower," and she went into her room.

"Unke yeh matlab nahi tha, toh hum rukh hi jaate hai. Ab Bhabhiji ka dil toh nahi tod sakte na," Yash said and immediately settled himself on the couch while Maan shook his head at him. What more could he expect from him.

"Excuse me, I have to call my Dad, so I'll come in a while," Pinky said as she exited the living room.

"So family meeting kaisi rahi Sir," Adi asked teasingly.

"Oh stop with the formality Adi. Hum office se bahar hai. Maan bulao and yea, everything went on smoothly," he replied.

"Mera number kab aaega???" Arjun seized the opportunity to ask about himself.

"Kya???" Maan pretended not to understand.

"Woh...Annie...errr..you saalaa," he bit him tongue. Yeh kya keh diya?

"WHAT???!!!" Maan exclaimed.

"Saaraa... Saaraaa I mean saari. Bhabhiji ki sari bahut achi hai. Kahan se khaaredee??? I was thinking of gifting one to my sister," he fumbled, not getting a word of what he was saying, himself, while the others were clearly enjoying his plight.

"Waise, once you start earning, tumhara number bhi aaega," Maan told him with a wink as he patted his back.

"Oh...Kya???" he exclaimed, his eyes literally beaming. "Errr...I mean yea, umm thanks Maan," he added as he regained his composure, with a grin plastered on his face. Annie ko batana parega, he mentally noted to inform her later.

"By the way guys!!! Don't mind Geet. I am very much sure she didn't mean that. Actually she was a bit nervous to meet my family and all toh shayad issi wajah se, you know what I mean," Maan tried covering up for Geet's behaviour, hoping they would believe him.

"Ab Bhabhiji ki baaton ko bhala hum kyun mind karenge???" Yash said.

"Exactly!!!" the other two said in reply while Maan smiled at them. He couldn't believe how they had already made Geet one of their own. They are his friends, they care for him, respect him, love him and love anyone related to him, he concluded. Ab yehi baat Geet ko samjhaana padega, he thought to himself.

"Adi, tum in logon ke saath raho, mujhe Geet se kuch kaam hai. And don't worry, I'll drop you guys on my way home," he informed them as he excused himself and waited for Geet in her room.

And Adi did get the clue. Obviously he didn't believe the excuse Maan gave for Geet. He also knew Geet in and out, after all.

"Maan!!! Tum yahan kaise??? Mujhe toh laga ke tum apne doston mein busy honge," Geet said shruggingly as she stepped out of the attached washroom.

"Oh c'mon Geet!!! Itna bhi gussa karna theek nahi hai," Maan said as he pulled her onto his laps while he was seated on her bed.

"Kuch bhi!!!" she said in a low tone. Mera sara plan chowpat kar diya unhon ne.

"Hmmm!!!! Wella Brilliance haan???" he asked, nuzzling her neck as he took in the lingering, fruity smell of her shampoo from her wet hair.

"How do you know???" she asked back, amazed how he got that right.

"Tumhare chakkar mein part-time detective bana hoon main," he joked as he rested his hands around her waist while she encircled hers around his neck. Annie ke liye yehi shampoo khareedta hoon, har mahine, now I can't tell you that, Maan told himself as Geet giggled at his poor attempt at a joke.

"Tum unse itna chidti kyun ho Geet?" Maan asked her. "Who tumhein bahut maante hai, you do realise that?" he explained her. "Hain toh who mere dost but they equally like and respect you because I love you. Toh phir tum un ke saath aise kyun behave karti ho?" Maan quizzed.

"Main unse chidti nahi hoon," Geet retorted as she tried getting up from his lap, but unsuccessfully so for he had a strong grip.

"Ab saara gussa mujhpe mat nikaalna," he told her.

"Main gussa karti hoon???" She asked, gasping loud at him.

"Aur nahi toh kya??? When people come to your house, toh aise behave karte hai kya???" Maan said.

"Woh... woh actually main gussa nahi thi," she clarified.

"Toh phir," Maan raised his eyebrows at her.

"Main irritated thi," she said.

"See!!! I was right!!! Tum chidti ho unse," Maan again said.

"Toh aur kya karti!!! Maine socha ke Pinky toh waise bhi apne kamre mein chali jaaegi toh I'll get to spend some time with you. But nahi... unhe aaj hi yahan tapakna tha," she said annoyingly with a shrug which invited a chuckle from Maan.

"Acha!!! Toh yeh baat hai," Maan said. "But Geet!!! Quality time toh hum kissi aur din bhi spend kar sakte hai. But abhi woh log yahan hai toh tumhein nahi lagta hamein un ke saath hona chahiye. After all they did come to share our happiness na," he tried explaining her and successfully so for she did nod positively.

"Kuch zyaada hi rude thi na" she realised.

"There!!! It finally dawned onto your small brain," he teased her, lightly tapping her head.

"How mean!!! Kuch aur nahi keh sakte the???" she growled at him.

"Ok I'm sorry Miss!!! Ab chalein???" he said.

"Ok but pehle mauke ka fayda toh uthalein," she replied with a wink and lightly touched his lips with hers before making her way into his mouth, without any forewarning. Maan held her with one hand around her waist while the other rested tightly on the bed to help him keep his balance. She could smell his cologne, being so close to him, Acqua Di Gio- her favourite. She deepened the kiss as she played with his tongue. She could still taste the flavour of the tiramisu they had for dessert some 2 hours back.

After few minutes, she moved away, breaking the kiss.

"Kaafi bold hoti jaa rahi ho Geet," Maan remarked teasingly.

"Kya karein. You don't initiate. So I have to take the first step na," she replied with a wink to which Maan just laughed.

"What will you drink??? Hot or Cold???" Geet asked the boys as Maan and she stepped out of her room, taking Pinky by surprise. Wasn't she just irritated by them a while ago.

"Bhabhiji jo...errr I mean Miss," Yash started but was cut in between by Geet

"Bhabhiji mat bulao!!!" Geet immediately said, as all attention turned on her. "Sirf Bhabhi bulao," she added with a smile as Maan looked at her lovingly. "So!!! What will you have?" she again asked. Lagta hai Maan Sir ne Geet ko ache se samjhaaya, Adi thought to himself.

"Ab Bhabhi joh bhi denge... hum ussi se khush honge," Dev said with a smile while Maan and Geet exchanged looks. See!!! I told you, he conveyed to her though his eyes.
