The Karan Lately

A few thoughts and a question I'd love to get your thoughts on:

Today's episode was deeply sad. I couldn't help but notice how Karan looked as he was sitting by the doorway so as not to upset the family. His hair was as it was when we first saw him on GKLB-- flat unkempt (appropriate given where he was). He looked like a vulnerable child, and not the calculated, hate-filled guy we've seen over the last 3 months.

While I feel sorry for everyone involved in this track, I'm surprised to say that I'm sympathizing with Karan's inner turmoil. the most-- Laxmi's venom-filled words, his own guilt, and the very public breakup of his marriage. I so hope they do not extend this track. Karan's revenge was longer than Montezuma's revenge after all was said and done.

I like the Karan-Laxmi jodhi a lot. For whatever reason, it clicks between them and their characters. I hope we don't see too much hurt between them for too long, because it's been pretty ugly--as in couples therapy/psychotherapy type of thing.

What I wanted to ask you was: How long will they keep Karan and Laxmi separated (as in not talking)? I know the writers will milk it for everything, but one can hope. Also, when (and not if) Karan returns with Surya, do you think Laxmi will hold out for long? Or will she take baby steps back to Karan? Because from where I'm sitting, he's transforming into a caring, feeling, and loving person. At this rate, Laxmi is damn lucky that he is her future--he's a real gem! And of course, really fabulous to look at.😳

LONG LIVE ROMANCE! EVEN IN BOLLYWOOD!

I think he deserves just a little torture (for what he did 2 lax)then she should learn to forgive and forget.

For some time we will see Lax acting hoity toity ...all on a high horse of how innocent her bapuji was and refusing to even communicate with karan.
then will come the day when it will be karan who will save her bapuji .
then savitri , and the other betiyaan , especially saraswati , [ the Coaxing experts i call them] will ask her to forgive karan .
The catalyst [ Karans mom] will speed the process by joining hands in front of Savitri .
The Nodders[ yes , durga and gauri , who r experts at nodding heads in the background] will chip in with frantic nodding .
And a sober and grateful Surya will clinch it by telling Laxmi that Karans crimes were understandable and only too human.
And of course ! When Bapuji forgives , will Lax stay far behind in forgiving ? After all , by now , evryone knows that Lax breathes , marries , suffers , yells , hits [and perhaps pees] only for her Bapuji ! 😊

she won't forgive him. i think she will forgive him when suriyakant comes back.

I think she will be mad then eventually be convinced to go back to karan and he will try to win her over ..i feel sorry for them all to its noones fault

i hope laxmi doesn't forgive karan even if surya comes back!! i mean the torture he put the girl through! you can't just say sorry and expect everything to be hunky dory! i think laxmi should get a divorce ASAP cos she can do soo much better. With regards to karan sitting in the hall outside looking sad with his hair all messed, so what it doesn't change anything - he still is responsible for surya's death. 😡 😡 end of.

i think tht lakshmi wont 4give karan at this very moment but she will later when her babuji comes back 😛 😛 and i really hopw tht happens because i think tht karan and lakshmi make an awsome pair 😳 😳

i give you your point on some things above but not others because your rationale is slightly flawed and you are twisting the points I and some others made:

"she should not forgive b/c of the torture he put her through": lakshmi ALLOWED him to put her through torture. She could have easily walked out the door; it's not like she was locked in her room the whole time or was guarded from leaving the house. She's not 6 years old and doesn't need someone's godhi!

I agree Karan should be punished--but not like this. It's too mean and personal. Karan never, NEVER said anything negative about her (I hate you, I never want to see your face again, you ruined my life, etc.).

Also, you take exception to my note on how he looked (sad). At no point do I say his looks absolve him of any responsibility or that that a "sorry" is sufficient to excuse someone of blame. MY point was that how he looked outside represents what is going on inside emotionally. The guy's changing his life around, understands consequences, and is willing to bear the punishment. I mean, come on, it's not like he slit Suryakant's throat --the guy wandered off and unfortunately was hit by a car. If this is the standard for culpability, then Lakshmi should feel real guilty. She convinced Satyakaam to see his parents on his wedding day, hence, placing him on the road to be hit and killed.

I'm realizing this more and more--while Laxmi IS strong and fights for what she believes in, she's very immature, overdramatic, moody, and does not think before she acts/speaks--watch the summer episodes again and you'll see what I mean. Jhansi ki rani, my a**. I think looking at the Laksmi NOW, Karan could do a lot better. A whole lot better!

Good post gp, i think Karan and Laxmi will get back together once Karan brings Suryakant back.. cuz that'll be the only way she'll forgive him.

Altho i think Laxmi is going overboard with the way she treats him, yea, Karan was at fault here for concucting and planning Surya's destruction w/o even getting all his facts straight. But as you've mentioned above, Laxmi is also to blame, cuz Karan could never have gotten so far with his plan, if Laxmi wouldn't have let him. So she shud realise that she is partly to be blamed for what happened to her father. There are others in the family who are partly resposible for this as well. Like yuvraj for example. All this could have been avoided, if Yuv hadn't kicked his parents off. Its cuz of him that they had to depend on Karan in the first place. And if all of them are forgiven, then why not Karan?
