Good analysis.

Its Ishaana whos losing out. Its like shes there for the sake of it. She needs to be defined properly, otherwise ones things are out of hand nothing can be done. The character is a deep one if you take in the circumstances. Being the eldest, takes in a lot of responsibilities. Just giving her a comic timing, doesnt justify the role.
Its okay if things go slowly, not dragged but with the story moving even characters must be built. Thats not happening with Ishaana.
Somedays although a Shivika liker and Ishana disliker I feel Ishaana must be given more space since she came in a late, they shuld giv her the screenspace to build up and things other than her target Om. Thats the only way viewers can understand her to actually like or dislike her. People will hate her if you make her a comic timing, since that doesnt suit the kind of character a con has nor that of a girl with responsibilities. The comic and darkness both are needed and both have to be delivered and that to not parallely. The dark sense of humor is needed. Its tough and needs care.
Rudr and Soumya are not deep, Im buying into what they are showing since we need good laughs too.
I love Dadi the most, the cutest.

Nice post. 👏

P. S-Im not bothered by the new entry since I luv the couple badly. Biased😆

I agree. They gave so much time to show Anika's family background and everything but Ishana doesn't get the same treatment. This is not fair.

Writers need to work on individual characters first before forcing love stories

There is no progress in the storyline and love stories look forced to some extent at the moment

Firstly thank you for writing an analysis post. I was starving for one on this forum!
I have recently started watching the show so I am still catching up on the previous episodes. I am going to give my two bits on the couple dynamics because the relationship of the brothers would probably take a hit when the new entries happen so...yeah!

Shivaay-Anika: The pros of these two characters are that both of them are strong headed and stubborn. Anika doesn't take every insult lying down. Sometimes she brushes them off but when the insults cut really deep, she internalizes it and doesn't react immediately. I want to see this contrast more because these scenes have more potential to bring out the differences in the character. Surbhi can do nuanced and subtle pretty well from what i saw in Qubool Hai and the PH needs to bring in her strengths to play to Anika. The character way too much of comic timing in some scenes that can be played with subtle actions.
Shivaay comes from a privileged background and even though he is hardworking, he didnt build an empire from nothing like the PH's previous leads, i.e, Arnav and Asad. They need to play a lot more in developing his narcissism since he believes in family status more than monetary. Nakul does have the potential to play a character tethering on the edge of being nauseatingly narcissistic yet redeemable. But I wouldn't want the character to be absolutely redeemed because that would kill the essence of the character.

Next is Omkara and Ishana. The first scene between them where Om says he is an excellent listener was pretty good. I definitely need more scenes between them talking about the complexities and meaning of life. I think Ishana's character development could be through these conversations. I am still deciding if is a con artist by will or force because sometimes she's deliberating her actions but at other times she isn't worried about it being on conscience. The PH wasted Rehan's character in Qubool Hai and I really don't want it to happen to Om. By far he is the most intelligent and clear headed of the three brothers. They really do need more screen time for themselves and not commenting on Shivika's relationship. Also Om's history of depression and substance abuse needs to be addressed as well as his relationship development with his parents.

Rudra and Soumya remind me of Miley Jab Hum Tum! College, alter egos. Add layers to their characters PH! They aren't just suppose to be all about comedy and laughter. I do enjoy it for sure but I loved how empathetic Soumya was at the hospital when Rudra was bawling. Bringing the partner at a vulnerable point in the other's life is a good idea only if the PH decides to continue the effect. They've reduced them squabbling kittens!

I am confused as to if the PH is trying to develop each love story one by one and how the couples affect each others' stories, if so, there needs to more clarity. The characters are strong in their own way so using them as fillers is wasting their potential.

I am glad the Svetlana angle got disposed of today. There are two many intricacies in the household already with two leads having existing partners to deal with another triangle. As always I love Dadi's character and it makes me miss Nani of IPK! Priyanka is really cute but more screen time for her please. When you bring in a character who's weak and protected please develop those characters because it does impact people who are watching the shows.

I think that the PH is taking digs at their previous shows is a bold move, especially since its extremely popular and dedicated fanbases. I am hoping Ishqbaaz goes a long way as well!

I miss the buzz of the IPK forum and their detailed analyses and lively discussions after the episodes were aired. So a shoutout to everyone who was a part to the forum 😃 You are truly missed!

The real issue isn't because of 3 couples and multiple characters. While one episode might not handle all at a time... but atleast all can be covered in every 2-3 episodes atleast. The real issue seems to be lack of pre-planning and proper distribution of the various characters' story-lines.

For me, Shivika as a couple has had a 'been there, done that' thing. Anika as a character being shown strong is the only plus point. And the couple does give some good laughs but I've never been able to connect to them more than that.

Regarding Ishkara... Om is a refreshing character and he is a treat to watch. And Ishaana, while had potential on paper, seems to be currently lost in translation.

Rumya gave a breath of fresh air initially... especially with the hospital scenes. But off late, their scenes give more of a Shivika vibe. I really think these silly tiffs are not needed since we already have one couple for that.

For me, what I like right now is the bond between the three brothers... be it the emotional stuff every now and then or all the comic elements that goes on between them. These three together are quite a treat to watch!!

Interesting write-up! Agree with all that you have written. Just would like to add my two cents.
Having watched previous offerings of this PH I don't find any character as fresh with the slight exception for Omkara. Yes, there are slight extensions to their previous characters like Annika being more stronger but after yesterday's episode I am afraid whether CVs are set to ruin strong Anika. Omkara is relatively fresh though slightly derived from Rehaan. I don't have any complains regarding Omkara's character development, they are revealing all the dimensions of him slowly with every passing episodes, he is sensible, observant, he can be humourous too, no mind games, brutally honest can't stand lies, yet vulnerable since he is driven by emotions more. Omkara is a most relatable character and special attraction of this show.
One character that the CVs have totally messed up or may I say failed to deliver is Ishaana. If you have watched second season of QH, the same PH had a conwoman as a parallel lead and they handled it quite well. I think the major difference between Seher and Ishaana is the former was conwoman by choice and the latter oscillates between by choice and by obligation. May be the makers are afraid to present a out and out conwoman keeping the TRP audience in mind, so they have inserted the family obligation part. It's fine to add the family obligation angle pushing her to be a con artist, it makes audience sympathetic to the character and doesn't make it look negative but then there need to be consistency and sensetivity which is lacking. What boggles my mind most is Ishaana never confronting her gambler alcoholic father, the man has pushed her into a profession that her heart doesn't approve of but still this lady doesn't have any issue with him, doesn't seem to take out her frustration on him, doesn't seem to ask him to stop drinking, gambling. The only logical reason for this lack of resentment could be if her father is not her real father and she is the adopted one. One more mess up is that her enjoying picking up things like expensive watch, things etc, if she is a conwoman out of helplessness then why that thrilling happiness on picking up the things? Not at all expecting the guilt ridden face but it can be kept normal and subtle instead of overly excitement. Overall I feel the CVs have lost it with regards to Ishaana. Vrushika looks beautiful as Ishaana but the messed up characterization isn't doing any better to her.
Though I enjoy Shivay-Anika and admire the acting of both actors, there is no development in both the characters individually since a long time, may be all the layers of both characters have been explored completely and now they are developing them as a couple.
Rudra and Sowmya are in the right phase and I think when the drama in the show starts unfolding the inner layers of these two characters will be explored, so as of now they are fine.
