The production cost of Rustom is low. As per the reports we have, the total cost of production of the movie is around 35 crores. With 15 crores spent on advertising and promotions, the total budget of the movie is 50 crores. This budget is exclusive of Akshay Kumar's fee, who will take some part from the profits.
The makers of Rustom were initially planning to have a constraint release. But, after seeing the buzz it has created, the makers are now looking for a wider release. As per the reports we have, Rustom will release on around 2300 screens. Mohenjo Daro, on other hand, will release on 3000+ screens. This is a similar kind of clash we saw when Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani were released on same day. Dilwale was released on more numbers of screens compared to Bajirao. However, Bajirao Mastani won the Box Office race pertaining to better reviews.
As the movie is made on a budget of low budget, recovery would not be an issue. The makers are in a profitable zone even before the release. The satellite, music and other rights are expected to fetch around 35 crores. The movie needs to collect around 70 crores to be profitable to the distributors.

Considering the buzz Rustom has created, it seems to be a sure shot winner at Box Office. The movie may emerge as third consecutive 100 crores grosser for Akshay Kumar. We are expecting Rustom to have a better opening than Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro
