So this is where it stems from.
Ishita 's innate feeling of responsibility to leave those she loves, because of that very love. And now she's back, because the ones she loves, need and love her the most.

And now she knows, that Raman was alone without her. Shagun in these seven years didn't even exist in Raman's eyes. Without Ishita there was no one. With Ishita, his family is his again.

Her children are hers because she loves them, unconditionally, not because she gave birth to them.

Today, it was gratifying to watch Ishita say to Shagun that despite masquerading as a married couple for pihu, Raman never became her husband.

It felt awesome to hear her say Raman was hers.

And she did with grace, and poise, and dignity.
She wasn't a martyr today, because today, she felt like she deserved all she had, because she didn't snatch anyone away, they came to her.

Shagun could never be what Ishita is. Raman's life, the children's soul, the family's heart. Shagun tried. She failed.

Ishita has this magnetic force that only she can, and Shagun fails to understand still it isn't Ishita purposely doing it, this magnetism for Raman is because she is the love of his life. For the children, it's the mother their hearts are bound to. To the family as a whole, she's woman who breathes life into them.

It's her innate goodness, and a woman like Shagun can only masquerade, attempt to be Ishita. But she fundamentally misunderstands why they all go to her, gravitate to her. They were never hers, and to hear this from Ishita herself, was so gratifying because Ishita's heart had been wounded by the very idea she doesn't deserve all this.

And now she knows she earned it.

And Shagun, she still can't see why Raman goes mental at the idea Ishita has disappeared.
I mean, narcissism ki bhi koi hadh hoti hai.

She doesn't think, why hasn't Raman come close to me in these seven years? He fell desperately in love with Ishita she thinks, why not me in her absence? The truth, the brutal truth that Shagun doesn't understand is that it's because she isn't ishita, the only woman who has ever truly consumed him.

So rather than her admitting that she doesn't compare to Ishita, she makes Ishita the culprit of her fate. And the result is that she looks like a woman child who stomps her feet and throws a tantrum. She throws a fit about the fact her children don't love her the way they love Ishita

I said it before, Shagun is delusional. Her self importance is too much to admit that she can't compare with Ishita. She knows deep down what Ishita is for the family, the kids. It's because she knows that she's dong all this. She can't tolerate this truth.

Welcome back Zoya!. Looking at yesterday's segments, I really wished to see a post from your end.

But yesterday's episode turned out to be a big surprise than the segments and happy to see you back to forum.

I'm just wondering when CVs can give such a great confrontation between ishgun , wondering what would have happened to the screen if ishra confrontation had happened.

Welcome Zoya very nicely put watever u said is absolutely true Shagun can never become ishita but can jst act to be like her because ishita is ishita who is selfless wer as Shagun she is self centric as ishita said Shagun was acting all goody good until things are gng as per her wish and she again changed to her own self wen things aren't like wat she wanted
D ego Shagun has will snatch everything away from Shagun again ishita gave an easy way to her saying dat they will leave everything behind and Dey both will be pihu's mother but no Shagun acted arrogantly dat she will take watz herz with Haq and she doesn't want beekh too much over confident dat Pihu will choose her but wat will happen once Pihu sees ishita's unconditional love?? Wen a spoilt brat like Adi changed with her love y won't Pihu change???

Lovely write up, Zoya! It's so good to have you back on IF 🤗

I saw this earlier but wanted to wait until I had a breather to write a few thoughts down

The Christmas break up was actually one of the scenes with the most depth in a while - and depth not for just the characters but depth as in real life applicable things.

YHM time and time again touches on this idea that what you have - be it money, a biologic function, etc - does not define a fruitful life. Ishita and Shagun are the most clear examples of this from day 1...a woman with everything on paper but nothing really & a woman with not much on paper but everything really.

It's not that good will always perceiver nor that good always "wins"...but it's the fact that the quality of your life will never be considered enough if you don't let it.

Just look at Shagun - she actually had a family that cared for her, a child that adored her, an ounce of respect from the kids she wronged, and now a kind husband...but for Shagun - that just isn't enough..is it greed? Insecurity? A general sense of dissatisfaction with her life? Idk

But the opposite end of the token is Ishita - she had lost everything for 7 years but so early found her place without honestly fighting too hard for it. She finds contentment in the small and thinks of others. Is it because of her insecurity this time? I don't think so...I think to some degree she has transcended letting her insecurity guide her...it's still there but Ishita as a person is guided by her compassion & therein she finds contentment.

Now this ^^ applies for just the scene from yesterday bc these characters go insane in the next blink - so all nice words of analysis from me are transient 😆

Loved reading your post first thing in the morning Zoya. As always it was wonderful and brought out the actual difference between Shagun and Ishita.
I was actually very happy with the dialogues given to Ishita yesterday. Though she was in JKR mode many a times earlier, this was the first time, I saw Ishita actually showing the mirror to shagun as to what kind of character she really is. She gave it back to shagun point black when Shagun was not ready to understand and continued with her "tumne cheen li" rant, but yet it was dignified unlike shagun screaming to try and prove a point.

Ishita was confident yesterday. She tried explaining shagun that Pihu would continue to be nurtured by both of them and the kid would continue to get both their love. But then shagun being shagun lives in her own world of fantasies. She knew it inside her heart that she can never even imagine to take the place of Ishita in the life of Raman, the kids and the family, how much ever she tries to be good with them. It is because Ishita is by nature a good-hearted person, but shagun is forcing herself to become like Ishita, but much against her character. Even a normal person cannot continue to act like another person, whose characteristics don't match. Shagun toh mein, meri ki dukaan hai. So obviously, as Ishita said, when circumstances did not favor her and when she did not get any benefit, her real color came out.

Shagun also knows whatever Ishita said is true but she pretends to act otherwise and feels that taking revenge is the only way she can defeat Ishita. Shagun contradicted her own thoughts when she said that she has a husband who is a business man, who loves kids and has every thing in life but then again she says that she is all alone in her life, because Ishita snatched away everything. Even after Ishita showed her the mirror about her failure to make Raman and the family hers in these 7 years, she is not ready to take it because that would mean Ishita is better than her and she is yet again defeated by Ishita's goodness, this time around even after she tried to be("act"😊) good.

I may be wrong, but it also looked to me like shagun did not expect such a confident yet determined Ishita who would fight back for her rights so sooner. I guess she expected a guilty, begging and apologizing Ishita, but she was taken aback to see the stronger Ishita back. Just my inference.

I loved these dialogues from Ishita yesterday :-

"tumse compare karke meri izzat mat girao",
"khud ko utane keliye doosron ko ghirani wali"
"tum chod kar gayi thi, kisi paraye mard ke liye"
"jab cheeze tumhare hisaab nali chalthi, tumhari asli rang bahar agaya"
the one when she said that seeing the kind of person you are, your kids chose me on their own.
" dhokebaaz ko dhoka hi milta hai"

I felt that it was a tight slap from Ishita to shagun with respect to her character and the kind of person she is.

You are right, "Ishita is someone, who shagun can never be". We got to hear a similar thought from Raman too in one of the segments aired yesterday.
